Speaking with Rob Burman European PR Manager of SouthPeak Games, he reconfirmed today that the publishers behind upcoming From Software title 3D Dot Game Heroes, will not be releasing Demon’s Souls in Europe, though he admits they would ‘love to’.
This confirms his sentiment in previous interview with CVG in January where Rob quashed rumours that the publishing house had secured the license;
‘Since announcing the game we’ve had a lot of questions about Demon’s Souls because – like 3D Dot Game Heroes – it’s published by Atlus in North America and people have started making connections. However the truth is that Atlus only has the North American rights for the game, unlike 3D Dot Game Heroes where Atlus also has the PAL rights, which means that although we’re working together on 3DDGH the same partnership isn’t possible for Demon’s Souls.’
He went on to tell me that the rights to the title, as far as he is aware, still lie with Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and that if it were to be released on these shores, it would most likely be a company with very strong ties with Japan.
Looks like the only way to pick up a copy in the foreseeable future is still going to be the import route.

Shame as it’s one of the best games on the PS3.
You’ll be happy to find out that it is indeed coming out, Namco Bandai are publishing it http://www.gamercast.net/demon-s-souls we were very suprised, but ecstatic!
Thats great news isn’t it? Daren and Matt discuss the release information on this week’s podcast, so make sure to check it out!
Apparently the book that comes with the it, is written by fans of the game, Wayne & Matthew, the operators of Demon’s Souls Wiki wrote the book, so it should be a great help for everybody getting stuck with the game.
