One of the leading, most successful and insanely addictive strategy series ever made, Sid Meier’s Civilization brand is now recognised as one of the greatest PC series of all time and has gone from strength to strength, conquered land to conquered land. The fifth title in the series, Sid Meier’s Civilization V, is set to refine the strategy elements even further, reinvigorating the turn-based template with an all-new engine that has been built from the ground up specifically for the game by the team at Firaxis Games.
The quest to become the ultimate diplomatic ruler will now feature a “heightened tactical system” of play, expansive and incredibly detailed regions to explore, deeper diplomatic interactions and even further expanded features that should make this the best in the series so far. Whether Firaxis can correctly balance every nuance of its design, it remains to be seen- the fantastic IV seemed to get everything right- after all, why fix it if it ain’t broken!? Civ V will further give the community reason to grow with a new in-game community hub which will allow players to share content and challenge each other without leaving the game, marking a new dawn in competitive strategy multiplayer for the game.
Civilization V will be available in North America on September 21st 2010, and internationally on September 24th 2010. For more information on the game, visit www.civilization5.com
