Mark Leung: Revenge Of The Bitch, A JRPG We Can All Get Behind

January 31st, 2011 by

Mark Leung: Revenge Of The Bitch might be old news to hardcore indie / JRPG fans as the title was released late last year, but what with the incredible amount of triple-A titles released around that time, you’d be forgiven for having missed it. Don’t make the same mistake twice though, ML:ROTB is perhaps the oddest JRPG in years, featuring crude humour, references aplenty (a Pikachu epilespy attack, a tribal Grimace from McDonalds, a face violating C3PO), plus plenty of swipes at traditions in JRPGs including an insta-kill beam entitled “WTF BBQ Deathray”, all presented in a surprisingly solid looking Dragon Quest 8 style engine.

Check out the trailer below for pianos falling on crocodiles, copius amounts of small animals vomiting blood and more cartoon violence than you can shake an oversized Gunblade at.

When you’re done, hop on over to the official website to give the demo a go.
