To go along with my Alternative GOTY awards , I'm also looking to collate nominations for a few other awards of a more serious nature.
Categories I've come up with thus far are ;
Best Music
Best Sound (non music)
Best Indie title
Best Arcade title
Best male
Best female
Best Remake
Best Online game
Best Graphics
Best Innovation
Best/weirdest Promotion of a game
Best Game that didn't sell
Biggest disappointment
Worst game
Most anticipated release of 2012
Best 2010 game of 2011
So if theres anything you guys want to nominate for those categories, or even any other categories that you feel should be included include them here. I'll then take the nominations and if needed stick up polls to decide any that need it.

Best Game that didn't sell – Vanquish, played it round a mates house and could not believe it had not been a bigger hit. if you have a console get it.
Most anticipated release of 2012 - for me it's Borderlands 2.
Worst game – Duke Nukem Forever. Maybe it should go in disappointment section but I think Craigieh is right as Dragon age 2, while not the worst game just not what it should have been.
Best Male – Wheatly from Portal 2 (we're allowed to say he's male right?)
Best Female – Glados from Portal.
Best/weirdest Promotion of a game - Burt Reynolds in Saints Row the third's trailer had me in tears of laughter. I would also give an honourable mention to Chuck Norris selling WOW.

Best innovation – the facial recognition tech used in LA Noire.
Best innovation: I'd go along with LA Noire. Next gen graphics on a current gen console.
Biggest disappointment: Deus Ex Human Revolution. I couldn't get on with it. I hope to give it another crack soon.
Best Male: Ezio
Best female: Catwoman.
Best online game: Portal 2.
Best arcade title: Stacking.
Best 2010 game of 2011: Rock Band 3
Most anticipated release of 2012: It can only be Bioshock Infinite. Or possibly Tomb Raider.
And I'll suggest a 'best gaming thing in 2011' category – to which I would nominate the MLG Eurogamer weekend! and a 'game you had the most fun playing' to which I would award Assassins Creed Revelations.

Best Music
Skyrim....the theme music is epic, sat and watched a 5 min youtube video of somebody programming their Christmas lights
to be in sync with the theme music.....got a semi....See Below
Best Remake
Not sure if it's in the category, but I actually enjoyed Duke Nukem Forever. I spent the early part of my 20's playing Duke
Nukem 3D, and this was like a trip down memory lane
Best Graphics
For me, it had to be Skyrim....no other game made me think...'Holy Shit, the Xbox has still got it !"

Biggest disappointment definitely is El Sh** ty ascension of the the crap gameplay.
Really nice gfx design really really bad gameplay. Jump and fall through gap, jump and fall through gap, rinse repeat until joypad is thrown into tv + very dull and repetitive combat .
