Eurogamer Expo2010 who's going? (Earls Court, London. 1-3 October)

EuroGamer Expo is being held in the Brompton Hall or Earls Court.

The entrance to this is opposite West Brompton Tube Station.

Looking at Google Maps, there is plenty of space OUTSIDE for a meeting area – just depends what time folk roll up.

As for inside the venue, I can only think that we need a banner of sorts or we agree an exhibitor stand as the central meeting post.

No event layout from EuroGamer yet.

Post Expo wise, there are a couple of pubs is pissing distance (The Prince of Wales and The Tournament).

There is a place called The Mango lounge that do venue hire (£500 deposit) with no minimum spend…but its a cocktail bar Confused.

Surley there must be a place nearby where we can hire a room for free!?!?

I'm heading up on the Saturday with Kingofmetal and a couple of other guys. We'll probably travel up on the Friday and try to get to Earl's Court for early Saturday to join the epic queues!

Sure we'll be up for some Saturday night tomfoolery.

Howdy all

We're busy planning the Saturday evenings enjoyment and are talking with a couple of venues.  When we've got things firmly in place, we'll be posting something on the front page nice and early to allow people time to make arrangements to join in the fun.

Personally, I can't wait for the entire event, its going to be a whole lot of fun.

Ohhh another question, mostly for those who are going to be around on Saturday.

Who's staying down somewhere to ease travel and who's having to travel back that evening?

I'll be getting there early Saturday, with HunterVP. I can't speak for Hunter ('cause he should currently be queuing up for his copy of Reach*), but I'll be travelling home that night, around 9-10pm. Another one that's looking forward to the meet rather than the show.

*BTW, 2 levels in, and it's pure Halo – I love it!

**WARNING**

Couple of things of note:

There are planned engineering works on London Tubes for Saturday 2nd October – http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/live…..?offset=11

The nearest tube Station to the Venue is the West Brompton Tube. The main entrance to the EuroGamer Expo is opposite this station.

Eurogamer Expo is at the Brompton Hall venue at Earls Court. Please check routes before you travel.

You should also be aware that there are two major exhibitions on at Earls court too: National Wedding Fair and the National Home Improvements Fair.

What a perfect mix!

Wink **Keep your eyes peeled on this site for news of a meet up venue on the Saturday evening** Wink

Ah, boo. Never mind, I'll be there asap on the Sat (I'm usually up about 5.30 most mornings, and I have a few early chores on Sat's so I need an extra hour or 2 on weekends!). As for the closures, they're right on the line I need to use – balls! This is why I never make plans.

*edit* No! I'm ok for my underground line -WOO! As for anyone having trouble with West Brompton, don't panic-try going to Earl's court – The stations are less than 5 mins walk difference.

Well this has crept up fast!

I know there is a meet up after the event but there must be other people going alone for the show who could do with some company?

I tried to get my girlfriend a ticket for the Saturday but as they are now going for ridiculous prices on eBay (£55!) it seems I'm gonna be loner frown

Also I have Friday ticket I no longer want and the first person to ask me can have it for free though I'm not sure if you can do that as it has my name ect on the printout?

So hit me up and we will swap numbers or something?

Hey fellow  midlife gamers.

I know we've organised a get together on the Saturday evening, but for those attending on Friday or Sunday, please feel free to make some arrangements via this thread.

The event is in the Brompton Hall of Earls Court, which I believe has a cafe area on one side.

Anyone with access to Twitter should use hashtag #MLGX leading up to and during the event for communication, so keep an eye out for that.

There is a plethora of developer sessions planned all weekend, so you may need to book these nice and early on the day if there is something that takes your fancy (details can be found here).

May I suggest the following:

Friday 2:00pm at the Café Bar Area

Sunday 1:30pm at the Café Bar Area

This should miss the developer sessions planned for each day.

I have a feeling Daren and Mat are going to be tied up with interviews on the Friday so might not be able to make it (be sure to keep an eye out for them on the show floor). Should also add that they won’t be there on Sunday.

Now, how are you going to know each other at the Café Bar? Well, if there are folk in MLG clothing, nice and easy, but if not, just walk up to each other and say “MLG?”

We’ve all chatted on the forums for a while now, so lets ‘press the flesh’ and go…Balls Deep!

I will be there wearing a go balls deep t-shirt, and i know others have said they will too, I think spotting people won't be a problem. But maybe we should have a secret phrase, like when introducing your self say hi, blah blah blah, would you look at that queue to the bar, its going to be a struggle getting ''balls deep" into there.

Good thinking Phizz.

I'm sure we'll be posting plenty of pics onto Twitter through the day.

Before leaving MidLife Gamer South on Saturday morning, lets get a group photo of all who are rolling in that morning.

Including myself and Daren, that should include Phizzy, Guernica2, Antman, Rapscallion, Adamski_uk and Hugo Rune….. I think thats about right.

Feel free before setting off to post on twitter (or here) a picture of your in your get-up so we know who to look out for.  Although I do still see a snowball affect going on through the venue as we pick up and more and more people to roll with.

Bagsy not in the middile!
