Just thought I would share what I read in this mornings Metro.

Interplay (Orignal publishers of Fallout) have lost the rights (To the tune of $2m) to produce a Fallout MMO, even though they had been working on it.

The rights were won by Bethesda!! smile

Well Bethesda did buy the property rights in 2004 so legally interplay has very little right to to produce anything to do with the franchise any more. If Bethesda does decide to continue a Fallout MMO I'd be interested where the that could lead.

Interplay actually retained the rights for a fallout MMO, when selling the property rights to Bethesda, but there were deadlines set, that if failed Interplay would forfeit all rights, including the MMO, to Bethesda.

They have been arguing about breach of contract on the deadlines for years now. Shame really, as I loved the original fallout games. A lot darker humour than the Bethesda FPRPG's.

Lets hope Bethesda take up the reins, and decide to create one themselves laugh

And this is why I will never be a successful Lawyer. I guess I contracts a contract at the end of the day. Any Bethesda MMO of a franchise would be a sight to see so a fallout one could have a lot of potential.

I have wet knickers thinking about a Fallout MMO. I'd rush out and buy a gaming PC tomorrow if it was released.
