Thought it might be a good idea to start this thread after Sinky posted about Canabalt. It can be an absolute nightmare finding the good games on iTunes sometimes

I'll get things started with a couple of my favs

-geoDefence

I'm not a massive fan of tower defence games, but this one has won me over. Things can get a bit crazy on the later levels, but you always feel like you know where you went wrong and want another go. Awesome 'Geometry Wars' gfx. There is a demo so check it out yourselves

- Big Buck Hunter

This has a special place in my heart coz me and my buddies used to play the arcade version down the pub years ago. But as finger-gun shooters go, this is pretty good. Be warned it requires a steady, quick draw finger. Only complaint is it is a bit tricky to hit buck in the distance sometimes.

I've got a few more, but will save those for another day. Any one got any personal favs?

Let's Golf by Gameloft is one i keep coming back to. I think it's about £1.20 for full version. It is quite challenging with easy to use and master controls. Good graphics and animations. it's all good..

Edge

Cube rolling game which may go under a slightly different name now aftera  stupid law suit. Great option of different controls too.

Warfare Inc

RTS game with a ton of levels and story mode.

Space Station: Frontier

From the people who brought you Sentinel comes this tower defence/slight rts game.

I've bought a few more in last couple of days Laugh.

Fruit ninja (59p) – Simple game, fruit appaers on screen and you use your finger to slash them, care though as bombs appaer and you die if you hit them.  Gets a bit frantic as game goes on

Flight Control (59p) – Name of game here is to land planes on different landings (depending on colour or airoplane/helicopter).  You use your finger to chose the path your plane/heilcopter so not to crash into another plane.  Again, it gets pretty frantic as you can have more than 6 planes you are trying to land at same time.

Hook Champ (£1.79) – Not played a lot of this yet as just playing other 3 I have bought.

For 59p each, I think both Fruit Ninja and Flight Control are worth a look.  Like I said, not played much of Hook Champ so cannot say if it's worth it yet.

Don't know what this is like yet, but there is a game called Slay which is FREE  on iTunes for today only. Will download it when I get home and see what it's like.

"It's a turn based strategy game. If you like games like Civ or Risk then you'll like this"  - says Hot UK Deal poster.

the word Free is music to my ears. This game is pretty good. I had a game called Stratergy which was risk lite but this is so much better. No random dice rolls and a nice resource management for your unit types adds some nice depth to this.

I actually started a blog reviewing iphone games a few months ago. Got quite a few thoughts up there. Been a tad bit lazy updating lately though. Check it out.

Like the simplicity of your blog coz all I wana do i sift through all the rubbish to find the good game su know. Don't have my DS any more coz i wasn't playing it, so my iPod is my only portable gaming device.

Finally purchased FM2010 after a good few weeks of being scared off by the price. All I have to say is to anyone who like there football management games simple like in the old days, then defo pick this up. I love it. It's already sucked me in for a good few hours.

It's  free for the weekend (parts 1 +2 anyway).  Never played it before so thought i'd try it out.  No excuse when it is free Thumbs Up

Anyway, i've bought a few to many games over last couple of weeks.  It's so damm easy just to click that buy button on iTunes Laugh

Update to my collections include :

Need for Speed Shift (£2.99) – As i've never played a car game on the iTouch, it's taken a bit of time to get used to controlling the car but starting to get the hang of it a bit more now.  So far, i'm enjoying it.

Tony Hawk pro skater 2 (£2.99) – just bought it yesterday so not had chance to play it yet.

Espgaluda2 (£5.49) The most expensive game i've bought so far but it is a great game. A 2D shooter, reminds me so much of the games i used to play years ago. There's also a lite verson so you can try it for free before buying full game.

Peggle (£1.79) I don't think I need to explain this game. Still addictive and works well on the iTouch

Plants Vs Zombies (£1.79) I'd heard a lot about this game but I normally don't like tower defence games at all.  Anyway, I bought it and have to say i'm really enjoying it.

Going away from gaming there is an "instant camera" app called Hipstamatic for £1.19. It lets you swap lenses, flashes and film (though there is a known bug that will crash the app if you try to do this manually) that can give some pretty awesome results.

I'm not sure that I'd get another iPhone when my 3GS gives up the ghost.  The battery life gets right on my tits although I hear that's a problem with all the 'smart' phones.

I'd be well up for another Touch though! thumbs-up

Not a game, but the Marvel comics app is excellent, and there are some great free comics every month – we all know Daren like his comics!

The Star wars Imperial academy app is also a fun diversion, if a bit janky, but you can't complain for free.

Gamechannel and FreeAppADay If you are looking for free games. These app give you links to games on app store that a free for a short amount of time. Not every game is a gem but for free its difficult to complain. For a anniversary a couple of months ago they gave away Civilization Revolution which was a 5.99 game at the time.

Cablink is a nice little tile puzzle game

And if anyone is into there tower defence games The Creeps, Vector TD, 4 Towers and Tower madness
