Any of you chuffers go to any of the big LAN parties held by Epic and the like?

Me and three friends play every other Sunday all LAN'ed up just using a normal 4 port router, same room competative gaming is just bloody ace, but we only usualy play the older stuff like Battlefield 2, Counter Strike and Unreal.

I was wondering what the protocol is at a big event, is it ok to run stuff like Battlefield 3 through Origin and all my Steam games at a big LAN party or do the various Steam/Origin clients cause problems? Also is there any specific software I need installed for comms and the like?

Im going to the one held by LANops, cant make the Feb one so going to get tickets to the April one, had no idea its held literaly 3 miles away me!

Cheers me ducks thumbs-up

Ooohh…love to see you do some live commentary at the event Shat!

Seriously though, sounds like a good excuse for a get together. Can you stick up some details of where it is, what the cost is etc…

Cheers Pete… yeah wil be taking the laptop.  Picked up a nice 24" LED to hook up to it and still flys along quite merrily at 1080p with BF3.  The LANops is more of a local gathering I think 60 or so, I thought I would have a look there and get the hang of it then give Epic a bash next time as thats 300+ networked.

Trackmania 2 should be pretty good LAN'ed, and same room Starcraft II will be great, may do some Idra Rage and smash the room up when I loose.

Adamski… I shall take the old camera sir thumbs-up
