Hi all,

Does anybody know if you should complete Portal before starting Portal 2.  Are there bits in Portal 2 that do not make sense if you haven't completed the first one?

Cheers

Otto

That depends, have you gotten to the part where you get to eat some cake?

And when GlaDOS offers you some more you say, "No thanks, I couldn't eat another byte. get it GlaDOS? Byte?!"

OK, honestly.

I would recomend finishing Portal 1.

It's all about your relationship with GlaDOS, and if you haven't done all of Portal 1, I don't think you can fully appreciate all of the nuances of Portal 2.

Yeah, I'd agree… Portal 2 does a great job of explaining the relationship between you and Glad0s so its not absolutely nessacery but having finaly picked it up in the Steam sale and started working my way through there are lots of quips and jibes she throws your way that whilst still amusing, have a deeper meaning from understanding the relationship between the two of you which Portal 1 sets up.

Its been brilliant so far, can't believe I ahve waited so long to pick it up laugh

Yeah – You should finish the first one. Wherever you're up to – it won't be too long before you reach the end.

Portal 2 is Game of the Year so far no doubt about it. I finished the single player in a few long sessions because I couldn't stop playing it.

The CoOp is my favourite ever multiplayer thing – and I've still got most of it left to do if anyone fancies a sesh sometime!

I would defiantly say yes to finish portal 1 before 2.

It took myself about 6 hours to finish the first one on abox and steam, then straight into 2 smile

Just finished the co-op  and I must say it was fun rofl

Looking forward to playing the DLC this weekend awesome

Yeah finish Portal first dude.  As GoddTodd says, it's all about the relationship with GLaDOS.

[REDACTED]

No–I really don't want to spoil it for you!

And why not download the soundtrack (for free) from the Portal 2 website–or Steam.  Robots FTW!
