Amazon are listing my order as estimated delivery for today, but it hasn't arrived as yet. I was expecting it on release day so this has got me mgea excited for it today. Will be gutted if i have to wait another day (sad i know). I really see the Vita as an opportunity to play games that i dont have time for anymore (due to a lack of access to my main tv, work and family life).

Well, would you believe it, my vita was delivered just after my last post. 

My initial impressions: the screen is amazing, real HD quality visuals, colours so bright and crisp, prepared to be amazed.

It has a mix of iPhone style touchscreen functionality and a useful interactive tutorial called Welcome Park (thta) even has trophies).

The ps store is not accessible yet, i guess until tomorrow, but its easy enough to sync to your existing psn account (although a firmware update is required to do so).

The web browser is good although perhaps not as strong as Apple's Safari browser. I am typing this on the vita however, so it is good enough. 

Rayman Origins looks gorgeous and the 15 mins i have played so far has been good fun.

I have no idea what Near is about but it looks interesting and i look forward to learning more about it.

Nice surprise today when I popped into the shop where I preordered mine (Gamestation).  They are now offering console part exchanges so I will be handing over my DSi tomorrow to take a £60 slice off the asking price.  Not bad considering I only paid that for the DSi (second hand) in the first place!

Also had my last fiddle with the demo model in the shop and played 3 launch titles - Everybody's golf is…well…Everybody's golf (it'll be the online shenanigans where that game shines).  Motorstorm RC is simple, silly and mildly diverting but FIFA Football looked and felt great.  I loved being able to pick out a pass or shoot for the corner with my finger (although will take some getting used to not subconsciously stroking the rear touchpad).  The only shame is that there is no PS3 cross over support so I can't continue / use any of my current saves (the only reason for this must be the build of Vita's FIFA matching FIFA 11 more than 12)

Time will only tell whether the Vita will sink or swim but it really is an awesome piece of kit. Roll on tomorrow….

I'll pick one up when they're under £200 including a memory card and a decent game. Until then, I'm out.

i can whole heartedly recommend rayman origin, so much fun and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Shame they ditched the online multiplayer element.

Loving the Vita, picked up the 3g model along with a couple of 16gb cards.

The screen is amazing and cannot believe how good some of the games look for launch titles (wipeout i'm looking at you).  My favourite games so far are Wipeout (although pretty terrible at it), Everybody's Golf (my fav psp game) and I'm strangely addicted to the Darts game.

I have picked up pretty much everything even half decent on the store (inc the free games about 20 currently sat on my new toy) creating an instant pile of shame so anyone want to play add me.

Yeah I know its in the 'live' area up at the top but I thought it only gave you the name of the trophy, rather than what it was for. Must try it again…

The killzone vid you saw was of a hacked vita and the lag was pretty terrible.  Technically there is no reason why a future firmware upgrade wouldn't allow this feature but it's unlikely that Sony will allow us to play all the stuff we've already paid for when they want us to buy all the new games.

I'm going to remain optimistic though. Remote play was the most disappointing feature on the psp with only a handful of PSN titles and PlayTV working on the handheld.  Surely Sony will do a better job this time round?…

Re: memory cards, bit hazy on the details but apparently many titles (including Uncharted) actually require a card to run on your vita.  If you are rolling without memory, best check the back of the game box before you buy. Unlike the psp, I'm having trouble findng the option that gives me a breakdown of memory used / not used and what it's used for.  Merrily downloading past PSN titles and demos and expecting a 'memory full' sign shortly!
