So how the bloody hell does this work? Me & Jim both have PSP's with Freedom Unite with wireless connections but cant seem to find anyone or each other in the gathering halls.

Don't tell me we need some other weirdness to make this happen. Both of our PS3's are running on wireless as well and they are miles away from the routers. I mention this because I remember someone saying something about connecting via your PS3 but it has to be wired or something similar?

We are also in different houses in case someone says just play local.

You need the ad-hoc party app on your PS3, and your PS3 has to be wired so that the built in wireless can be used as a pretend ad-hoc connection, which is what the game wants.

Hugo, would you like a forty foot network lead, or can you get one from work?

Mr Roo is correct.  You need to hardwire your PS3 them run the Ad-Hoc party software on the PS3 to be able to connect.

Doesn't it work the other way around? Can't you USB into your PS3 and wireless to your router?

Thanks for the offer matey but my ability to pilfer shit from work is as yet undiminished.

Nope, one way only.  Hard wire your PS3 then connect the PSP wirelessly.

You think that's hard work?  You wait until you want to swicth back to wireless.  I hope they've updated the firmware because the last time I did it I had to re-enter all of my wireless network details.  I couldn't believe it! Surprised

… Because it's such a hassle to select your SSID and then input your decryption key?

Yep.  Why can't it just store the decryption key as well.  My iPhone does.  It's just a little niggle and was surprised when I had to do it.  I had to get up off the sofa and go and find the code!

I've used some PC software before to emulate PSP ad-hoc gameplay over the internets. I don't remember what it was called or how it worked though.
