Demo out on the Marketplace yesterday.
Sadly hasn't lived up to my expectations. The whole design seems to be firmly stuck in the early PS1 era – think Tekken, Daytona USA – just seems out of place these days.
The actual boarding doesn't have the right feel or weight for me either.
Interested to hear what others thought about it though – maybe I'm just not in the right place for this right now.

Ohhh well i'm going to be checking this demo out this evening – very excited.
I'm hoping it will provide me with a new short burst gaming experience with excellent leaderboards etc

I thought it felt much like SSX 3. That's a good thing.
I wasn't a fan of the air boarding bit.

Actually I thought the airboarding was the best bit. A really inventive way to give a new user infinite time to mess about and learn tricks and moves.
Maybe I'm being too harsh on it but it just felt "Meh" and there are too many great games out there for me to waste my time on bland.

i was a big fan of these games back in the day but notr so much of the 3rd one?! but it felt like a return to form for me!!
by the way i got 13mil on the trick run and 1.29 on the race!! whose bigger and beter then as i dont have many of you on my fr list!
hadnt been considering buying any games in the forseable future but this may now be a first day purchase for me, other than this im only looking forward to trials evolution!! think im addicted to leaderboards??!!

I like this a lot
Menu's are a bit of a ball ache, had to find the recommendations before I found the trick stage.
Jim – I can tell you're going to be terrible on these leaderboards…. so far I'm second on my list with 6 mil and there you are with 13.6!!!!!!

Demo didnt really do much for me, gona be a renter i think. The original ssx and tricky were 2 of my absolute favourite ps2 games but i really couldnt get into ssx3 and this feels much the same, just shinier. Ill whore it for some achievements then send it back.

Really liking this alot..loved the previous games and just have that feeling that this is going to be in my top 5 games of 2012..Some leaderboard battling going on already..I'm thinking my race time of just over 2 minutes is pretty safe for now and I just can't get over 7 million on the trick run…so yeah can't wait for the full game…

Have to add that I was very disappointed with this, maybe I was just expecting far too much
I may give it another go at some point but I can not see me buying it on release, might plow the cash into buying Kingdoms of Amalur when the price drops a little instead.
Although if SSX drops to about 20quid pretty quick then I may still pick it up, but not splashing out 35-40quid on it.
I have to agree with Vimesy74 in that I really loved the airboarding, nice little touch to help learn the moves. But once you got into the race I just couldn't dig it which I am really gutted about :-(

Well, I had a go on the demo earlier. God knows what I was actually doing but I had a blast doing it.
Not sure if I can justify a full price dip but definitely a consideration for rental or future price drop. Right, back to being tricky with my uber melons (I'm sure there needs to be a 'ooer, fnarr, fnarr' added after that comment…)
EDIT – Not sure whether I'm winning the fight with the invisible ninja who seems to be after me just before the pilot tells me to jump. Very strange..!

I'm going on a trading rampage again tomorrow (bye bye Skyrim!!)
Been playing the demo all week – only the trick part as I'm terrible at the speed run.
But I've seen to many video's of the wing suits and survival sections and I know there will be so much content for me

Have to admit, picked up this Demo for a quick blast, and it sunk its hooks in.
Spent many nights competing with Jim, Mr Dir3ct0r and Crystalskull trying to get the top spot on both runs.
Last I checked I had 1st on time with a 1:59 (glad Jims friend isn't on my list) and 3rd after Jim Destroyed my trick score with his 22million beast of a run.
The wife has agreed that if my local Tesco stocks it, I can buy it. (thats a slim chance though, they still have not stocked ANY games from Jan/Feb)…otherwise, I will be picking this up in 2 weeks, before I go into hospital.
I can see this being a big community game, even when playing solo.

Can you view your friends runs? Like a ghost mode? Or is it just times you see?

Tried it again but it just isn't right for me. Pulling quite low review scores seemingly across the board as well.

Not my style of game either, but every review I have seen has been very positive. It currently has a 84 rating on Metacritic.

My bad then. The ones I've read have been very mediocre. Both Edge and Nowgamer gave 5 or 6 I believe.
It is one of those games I really do hope does well even though I won't be getting it.
