Tomb Raider.  took me longer than expected due to a lack of time and a holiday in the middle, but done with story and 78% complete.  Went back to mop up some collectables, but probably won't see them through.

Loved the game, superb, gorgeous experience. I'm not that great at shooters so a few bits were tricky for me but an excellent experience.

What shall I play next? Red Dead Redemption, Halo 4, Ghostbusters or Batman: Arkham City?

If you're ready to make the commitment to follow through with the whole story, Red Dead Redemption.

Otherwise, I'd say Batman.

Completed:

The Last of Us: on easy and easy plus (no laughing I'm crap at shooters). Hoping to go onto Normal next. Great game.

Uncharted Golden Abyss: My first Vita Plat it was tough going.

Next up GTA IV: Yes after 5 years I still have to finish GTA IV.

Hey 4nd, go for Red Dead it's an excellent game.

Just completed Super Mario 3d Land on the 3DS.  Got pretty hairy near the end though, at one point I dropped to only 50 lives left.  Crazy how the number of lives you have in that game is almost like another scoring mechanism.

SInce my last post here I've completed..

The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief – Parts 1&2 with 3rd part to come. Point & Click old style adventure game in the Agatha Christie style. You are trying to capture a pink panther style thief on a train, boat and finally the Egyptian Museum as he tried to steal two priceless jewels.  3/5

Gone Home – A very interesting experiment in interactive narrative from the guys who made Minerva's Den. Come home from a year long trip to find an empty house and a mysterious message from your sister on the door. Search the house and piece together the lives of the people who lived in the house. Heartwarming story and excellent voice work make for a great couple of hours. 5/5

Brothers: a tale of two sons – XBLA game where you control bother brothers in this 3D puzzle adventure. To find a cure for your father you have to work together to solve the puzzles as you travel the unique and gorgeous world of giants and trolls. The control system takes some getting used to (bit like patting head and rubbing stomach at the same time) as each brother is controlled independantly by one of the analogue sticks. 4/5

Splinter Cell: Blacklist – No Michael Ironside, but it scales back the reboot from the last game and adds back in the stealth aspect. Probably the best Splinter Cell since Chaos Theory.  4/5

Just finished The Last of Us on normal difficulty and in general I loved it.

The story was well scripted and paced perfectly, the voice acting was well delivered and believable, what more could I ask for…..

Not bothered with the online portion of the game.

On a whole, it has made we want to break the seal on all 3 uncharted games I have on my shelf unplayed.

Just finished Crysis 2. It's a bit more…claustrophobic than the first one. Crysis 1 had a sort of open world feel to it where you were in physical large areas. In number 2, you are mainly in narrow streets for most of it. However, still a good game, even if the end 'boss' was a bit anticlimactic. Also, sets it up nicely for number 3.

Finished Beyond: Two Souls

For the most part I loved it. Have some concerns that the way the story sequences jump around in time doesn't quite work and the story is a bbit off the wall.

Otherwise it looks sounds and feels fantastic. Ellen Page does a bang up job and looks great.

I've just completed the main quest line on Dragonborn (Skyrim DLC). If you haven't purchased this yet I highly recommend you doing so. The new island of Solstheim is packed with new places, materials, gear, quests, foes and shouts that'll keep you enthralled for hours.

I've just completed Beyond: Two Souls. Played through in around 12 hours, now wondering whether to go for the platinum.

Really enjoyed it – like Heavy Rain, it won't be for everyone, but if you don't mind the format, it's well worth a look. Great graphics, good acting, good story. No complaints.

Batman Origins done and dusted.

Doesn't really change anything from the previous game, even though its a prequel you have all the same gadgets.

Still fun to play, but missing that certain spark that Rocksteady brought to the previous 2. Seems like a console end filler to me.

Completed Batman Arkham Origins at the weekend. I enjoyed it.

Liked:

  • The detective moments – There should have been more of these and harder to complete.
  • Some of the plot twists and boss fights unexpected.
  • Large Map.
  • Introduction to new DC characters

Disliked:

  • Short Story – it did leave me wanting more.
  • Same gadgets as previous games.

I love the first two Batman games, but it didn't sound like the new one was bringing much to the table.

That, and I'm not all that big on prequels.

I think I'd be more interested in how a Batman game would play out if the civilians weren't holed up in their homes.

Kind of like Assassin's Creed, where you feel like you are apart of a bustling city.

You played the game, what did you think?

"Brothers" on XBLA.

I wondered why it was rated 16, but there is some mature content that younger kids might not be ok with….nothing too bad.
It's a sad tale, which is wonderful to see a direction that games don't normally take.
The control method is a change from the norm (you use the left stick to control older brother and the right stick to control the younger brother) and is often a bit like rubbing your tummy and patting your head.

Easy on the eye, very polished and great surround sound audio.

A pallet cleanser I would say.
