So I am in Tokyo for the next 2 weeks, can anyone recommend any of the stuff that we cannot get in the West (Games, Gadgets, etc) that I should be looking to pick up. I see that the shops are full of adverts for the Vita, but I am probably about 4-6 weeks too early for that.

Those 100 Yen shops are amazing, I almost decked out my entire apartment from the stuff I bought there, lots of little odds and ends that you’ll never have heard of but suddenly feel the need for.

What I tend to do is to pick up things that I know I can resell over here. Game related items like art books, soundtracks or action figures can make you a big profit on eBay, especially as they can cost as little as £1 over there and you can sell them for around £20 to collectors over here. A lot of stores have bargain bin sections so make sure to rummage around them as there are some great deals to be had. I once picked up a few sealed GameCube games for the equivalent of 50p and sold them for upwards of £30.
