Hello -

I'm hoping I can get some assistance or at least a few educated opinions.  I'm looking for a pair of wireless headphones. I know all of the higher quality headphones are $200 – $300 and I'm fine with that.  I just want to make sure I have the best fit for my needs.  I have a projector setup that I use for movies, PC, 360, and PS3 games.  All of these connect into my Onkyo Receiver via HDMI and it is 7.1 surround.  Also if it makes a difference I have an Apple airport extreme wireless router in the same room.

I'm looking for the best pair of wireless headphones that will accommodate all 3 of these systems and  hopefully sound good when watching movies too.  I sit around 18 feet away from the screen so I need to make sure they can handle the range as well.  I'm not sure exactly how these work, but I'm hoping I can just plug the headphone base unit into my receiver and then easily switch between my devices as I want to listen to them  I'm hoping I won't have to disconnect and re-connect cables every time I want to switch.

I've been looking at the following headphones so far:  Astro A40 Wireless, Turtle Beach PX5, and then the Creative Soundblaster Tactic3D Omega.  The Astro A40 looked good but I was concerned about the PC setup.  From what I can tell you need to run a cable to it which is something I don't want to do.  The PX5 looked good, but I was a bit concerned about the range.  It states 20' is the maximum and I'd be close to that.  The new Creative set looks great on paper, but I'm not sure how it compares in sound quality to the other high end headphones out there.  I know in the past Creative as a company has struggled a bit with the quality of their products.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I think the range is quite good on the PX5's.

I think I may have gone about 20 feet from the base with 1-2 walls in between.

The best way to hook up PX5's or just about any wireless headphones is with an optical cable.

Turtle Beach packages one in with the PX5's.

I can't say too much about the others since this is the first expensive pair of cans I've bought.
