My Skyward sword box set arrived today..and she's put it away to be wrapped up for Christmas day..I've not looked forward to a Christmas day game since she got me my Demons souls USA import a few years ago..I'm expecting this to be up there with Skyrim and Xenoblades and I've got 10 days off this Christmas to totally immerse in this Zelda..reading Edges 10/10 review just gets the juices flowing for this game..god I'm hoping this beats Ocarina of Time as my all time fav game…anyone else getting this and what games if any will you be waking up to on Christmas day??

Well ive been up since early this morning and i had to give in and open up my Zelda and stick it in the Wii…couldnt resist it.Ive been playing it for about 2 hours and mmmmmm..not too sure at the minute what i think..im not really a fan of the controls at all and the first 2 hours is so boring.I dont mind tutorials but this game treats you like a 5 year old..it keeps repeating everything..press a for this..press b for that why cant there be an option for Zelda veterans to just get on with playing the damn game.As for my christmas day gaming ive asked the wife if she can get me Assassins Creed Revelations..

This be Christmas for me so I'm trying to stay away from too much media content.
Too much Skyrim to be played at the moment.

Today, I had to choose between Skyward sword, and Mario 3d Land. I have to say that as fantastic as Zelda looks, the prospect of a new Mario game won me over.
Fear not! It's payday next week, Zelda will be mine!
Oh, and the week after, its Mariokart 7- I'll be really getting my Ninty on this Xmas!

Just hit the 5 hour mark and its only just starting to open up..its still very linear and its still wanting to keep popping messages up every 5 minutes telling me how to do this and do that. The control system is…ok…nothing special and id much prefer using the game pad pro..Its certainly not grabbed me in the same way as Ocarina or Wind waker but its still a good game and lets be honest..its still early days..The styling and graphics are very nice..and the music is pretty good..so all in all its not bad..i just dont like the way the game wants to treat me like a 9 year old..and thats the over riding feeling ive got so far..it seems like im playing a kids version of Zelda..anyway ive just entered the very first dungeon so im hoping it will improve from here on.

@guernica2 try not to read this if you want to stay away from the game until christmas day.
I like the structure of the game so far, instead of looking aimlessly for treasures, they use the sky/land layers pretty well. I also feel a bit more for link and zelda because they know each other from the very start, the story is really good and the visuals are also top notch. The game is a bit more linear than before aleast at the start anyway but I don't really mind all that much. I think the stamina gauge, item upgrades and Fi are all great improvements on the game.
Didn't like Navi or Midna as travelling companions.

Got mine sitting on the shelf waiting to be played, Skyrim and Mario 3D need to be beaten first.

Had a quick play, just got to the surface, very nice game, though I do wish it supported a gamepad, as I'm too lazy to wave my arms around to hack at things, and it doesn't make the game any better by doing so.

I think the flying is really good. The combat is a big step towards 1:1 motion control and may I add Nintendo have done a great job in asking the player to re-calibrate the Wii Motion Plus add on (looking at maps and things in first person perspective).. I am really enjoying the game so far.
