Sooooooo, just picked up Gears 3 as I noticed it had broached that sub-£20 mark @ Simply Games. Definiately up for trying out some Multiplayer. I'll be a complete Noob though – last played on Gears 2 release for about 2 hours and then moved on as none of my mates were playing.
What's the established method of Newbies joining the session? Not sure if the game will arrive tomorrow sadly – but I have just recieved the dispatch email so you never know.

Well as promised I lugged my TV back from the other halves place this morning.
After a quick re-introduction to the Xbox, they are like old friends again.
The mentioned other half is away tonight in Swindon, leaving me in Cardiff, all to myself with all the beer and terrible food I will ever need.
Probably going to be on pretty early catching up on messages and checking any demo's I've missed.
I'll also have a good clear out of my friends list for those who want to add me.
I CANT WAIT

ok i am putting this up here as a debriefing why i destroyed gears of war 3
it was many factors what lead to the destruction of this game the main one being whenever i play this game it makes me angry i swear off mic (thank god for the muted button) second factor i get aggressive with people who i am good friends with and the third factor i just don't enjoy the game any more also i am taking the hot sauce in account as well
i have worked in high stress situations and still do where people often break and go of like a bull to a red rag i don't need a video game doing this in my life as well luckily this is the only game ever to do this
also i apologise if i offended anyone last night or putted a downer on the night
it is a shame this is really the only regular mlg community gamer night what sticks cross fingers something else sticks soon

Pete u have summed up my feelings exactly. I love playing with the MLG community but Gears drives me up the wall. Maybe we should have another regular gaming night on a Saturday or Sunday? For BF3, poker, ME3 or whatever anyone wants to play?

All of the above sound great to me. Happy to play anything really. Just can't play versus mode on gears as I just don't have fun (which is the whole point after all)
I don't want to be seen as whinging tho as gears and beers is great fun for the banter etc But if there are a few of us who wanna play horde or some other games and then join up everyone to play poker or whatever after gears and beers has finished that would be cool.

Although I don't mind versus (also rubbish at it) I prefer co-op, so as GoddTodd said have horde/beast matches going at the same time for those who prefer or can't get in the versus ( party full by the time I get online when I've looked  ) or some other good drop in/out game.

I perfer horde Caliburn, its where i spend most of my gears time so chuck me an invite and i'll come running with turrets and decoys! lol
Also happy to play any other game really but gears is will be a friday night fave for me

Ive played horde a fair bit, waves 1-50 four times.
Send me and inv anytime your up for it, i only have one request, the no regenerating ammo multiplier, makes things alot more fun, forces you to experiment with different weapons and brings out strategy a whole lot more.
