I was wondering if anyone is in the beta and if there was any interest in forming a guild. I'm not sure if they are using different servers for the US and Europe, but we can give it a shot.
Also, I, apparently cannot spell wars.

I've pre-ordered too. Set up an Empire guild yesterday, Brutal Deluxe on a European server if anyone's interested in joining. With the Speedball 2 name, we'll give the PvP Huttball a good go

You bet your ass i`ve preordered! But no beta so far. I was mislead to believe that preordering gave you access to beta, but i allways thought that was too good to be true. No matter, come 22 December ill lock the doors to my house and play 72 hours straight! Whoo needs christmas anyways!!

Recieved a mail today:
"Your account has been selected to participate in the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Game Testing Program."
It says my beta period will last from 11 november to 13 november, so we`re talking this weekend! I did have a few plans but screw that, im cancelling it!
Ofcourse i do have that nagging sensation at the back of my head, this could be one of those emails with virus attached only to get access to my PC. But the mail looked legit and i think i recall getting mails from
no-reply@bioware.swtor.com earlier.
unfortunatly the web page is down for maintenence wich only makes me more paranoid and restless. But hopefully the mail is real and i will be playing The Old Republic the coming weekend! Ill make sure to post my two cents on sunday.

Site is up and after some fiddeling i started the download wich is just shy of 21 gigs. The beta doesnt start for yet a few days so there is no rush.

Congrats. Just a heads up, this is the big server stress test weekend, so who know how smoothly things will be running. Also, since the stories haven't changed the last few builds, and this is a very story driven MMO, I would suggest playing as whatever class you are interested in but with the opposing faction. That will give you an idea what the classes abilities are like without making you slog through the same story come Dec.
Also, since I think everything is happening on the Cosmic Turbine server, hit me up if you want to run together or anything. I will most likely be on Ardee, my Sith Sorceress, but I can start any char type.

Yeah, i`ve seen the notes on the stress test. Hard to tell if the game will be playable or crash every 5 minutes. But we`ll find out in a few hours .
You say playing in the oposite facton, but the classes are different. My plan was to go Bounty hunter but as far as i can se the republic`s version of that class is Scoundrel. And from the video the two classes looks very different.
Its a shame we only have 3 days to play, i was hoping to test several characters. But i think i will start off wich Bounty hunter or Imperial agent. I will avoid playing a lightsaber wielding char because i think everyone else will.
I`m definetly interested in hooking up tonight, would be great to form a party early and see how well it works in groups. Ill join the Ardee server and look you up there. In a perfect world my char will be called Tai but we`ll see..
One question thou, why do you think the Cosmic Turbine server will be full? Lots of people on forums saying thye will be there?

Got it pre-ordered as well…. That's us all bro'd up then :P.
So yeah im getting this game. Still have my doubts as to how good it will be… but im sure it's not gonna be terrible. As for server. I'm in a guild with my friends on some euro server so won't be able to join you US guys im afraid. Would rather try and limit the lag as much i can anyway.

At least you get to play the game!
Realised i made a silly mistake when pre ordering it…. I forgot to register the pre-order key with my account due to lack of reading things….. So even though i pre ordered months ago, it didnt get activated until today. This pretty much means that i will get a maximum of 1 day head start (beta head start is up to 5 days before release and entirly dependant on when you pre ordered the game). Teaches me a lesson 'READ THINGS BEFORE YOU BUY THEM'.

Ouch man, that sucks.
I know its not much comfort but its better to fall at your own mistakes. Would be worse if the shop that sold you the preorder made a mistake. I hope you get a day atleast or maybe more.

I think EA are trying to wind me up. Had two emails in the last two weeks stating a beta weekend and they will be forwarding me a code. 2 weeks later get me 3rd email to get involved in the beta and still no code arrrrrhhhh. Knowing my luck I'll get the code when the game drops from the letter box

started a playing this last night went sith chose a bounty hunter so had to call my character dog! what seemed like an hour later was actually 4 am opps.
For a beta its pretty solid so far haven't had lag etc. Today thought I have a look at the otherside so decided to start a Jedi and I think from early impressions sith is more fun!.
