Hi all,my name's is Gaz.With thanks to the good lady for the i-pod at xmas.
Started searching podcasts to listen to at work & found this diamond.
Been listening to mlg since Feb.
I'm 39 so i've been into gaming since seeing space invaders in the local arcades.
Got into computers at school with my primary showing bbc's computer programme, and they got a bbc micro.
first micro was zx81,couple of years later a spectrum+.
Started to do programmes in basic & tried to do machine code but got bored withthat it.
loved playing games on the speccy.
With getting older & leaving school i got a job on the local pier.
Spent 9 years their playing loads of different games throughout the years.
In that time i didn't get into home gaming with it all being in my job place.
So when i left that job i got a gameboy, then a nintendo off a family member.
Haven't looked back.
Had a snes,psone & share with my son a xbox,psp & xbox 360.
More of a casual gamer hard to get chance with my lad on the 360.
When i get on it i like playing fifa10,forza 3,cod mw3 & far cry2.
Not been able to get any games lately.
But i certainly enjoy the guys going on about everything thats gaming & the other balls deep stuff.
Really looked forward to talking to the community.

Hi Gaz welcome to our lovely forums and what a great intro. The only thing you missed off was your biscuit and beverage of choice. Its a kind of initiation that all newcomers have to do lol but we won't torment you on it unless you say twiglet or something daft like that ha ha.Â

Good man Gaz. Nice intro. Welcome to the forums. We're not a bad bunch really!

You need to get your boy off those machines and get yourself some game time.

Hi and welcome to mlg. Â
Â
Quick tip, I find the best way to keep the kids off the console is to lock em in the shed, they love playing with the tools and rat poison and after  few hours they tend to quiet down to an occasional soft sob.     Hope that helps.

Welcome aboard the good ship MLG Gaz!
A great pedigree of gaming. Same here with the rare gaming windows…got take what you can get!
But that means you can spend more and more time on HERE!
For instance, you could have a go at the MLG100 Podcast Picture Quiz….
Oh, and you could send a friend request to the 360 tag "amidlifegamer"….don't let your kid chat to anyone on that list though…unless you want to taint his view of the world.
Hi Gaz, welcome to the forums hope to hear lots more from you, I know what you mean about the kids luckliy we have a motorway nearby where they play real life frogger lol! only kidding.

Hey hey, you sound like you'll fit in just fine.
Squeeze your offspring off that console and jump on line with a few of the guys.

Many thanks to all your replies.
Yeah forgot about the biccy bevvy q&a.
Biccy probably Plain choc digestive, reason is no one else likes them.
But i could go through a box tea time assortment easy.
Bevvy non alc a good strong wet cup of tea.
Alc,JD & coke.
The pier i worked on was Fleetwood it burned down a couple years ago.
But i left their in '96.And it had been closed for a couple of years.
Oh and trying a 13 yr old son who's nearly my size off the xbox 360 is getting harder.
Can't see him staying in a shed for long without kicking it in.
Speak to you soon guys.

Personally I like to keep the kids in the cellar, nice brick wall, so nobody can hear the screams, also hobble the little buggers first, a nice block of wood between the ankles and a sledgehammer works wonders, stops em trying to kick the door in then, anyway, welcome to the forum, sell one of the kids to medical science and buy a PS3 and I'll see you online, if not, I'll see you on the forum, toodles!

I think you need to encourage the boy to play more games, but make the bugger get a job so he can pay for them himself. With any luck you'll end up with a stack of new games, and a kid who's too tired to play them.
Welcome!

I have just realised there is loads of really great parenting advise on this forum  which i need to take note of for when i have kids. I have always thought of investing in chloroform when i have kids and a trank gun for when they get older. It would turn borring old bed time into a fun big game hunt. Just wondering what everyone thinks of my ideas

ahh if only that was possible the mrs does want kids and my dad loves to put on the sob story how he wants to see grandchildren. But we have agreed not for a few years yet. since our 1 bed flat has barely enough room for our books, dvd, and games collections
