Finally decided to register here, been following the excellent podcast since episode 144 and have now gotten the back catalogue too.

Wish i'd not taken Daren's advice and looked at getting Tiny Tower as it's consumed a good 5 hours of my day today already.

Cheers

J.

Hello and welcome classicgamer (no spaces, my kind of man)

things have been little quiet on the forums of late since Skyrim abducted everyone who could run it. so that leaves me to ask the important questions for new members.

1. whats your favourite biscuit?

2. red or brown sauce?

answer these and your journey to profound euphemism awaits you.

best wishs

the cynic of a huntsmen.

Fave biscuit gotta be the custard cream….. although have been partial to a bourbon too. Are Jaffa Cakes allowed?

Gotta be red sauce….. without a doubt!

Thanks for the welcome awesome

No! Jaffa Cakes are not fucking allowed!

Back in the day you'd have got banned for that sort of talk, I kid you not.

Anyhow welcome to the backbone of MLG where we're all friendly and lovely and we know what a biscuit is. A word of warning listening to Daren will only end up in lost time and cash. Tiny Tower, Demon Souls, the fucking railway children or whatever it is.

So what are you playing other than your little tower of lost time?

P.S. I fell for that one too, amongst many many others frown

Well finished Arkham City last week and finished Uncharted 3 last weekend, i'm a PS3 guy and an Imac guy, recently bought Arkham Asylum and completed it in a week on the Imac.

Newest games are Tintin which i'm enjoying very much, still trying to battle through Infamous 2, got Shadow of The Damned which is ok, Battlefield 3 which i'm awful at but love and Sonic Generations which again love but not progressing very far.

I'm the kind of gamer that loves games but i'm not actually very good at playing them.

I've not got the classicgamer name for nothing i'm a huge retro fan, I started off with a Atari 2600 with built in Asteriods games, not long after that for my birthday I got the Sega Master System II with Alex Kiid in miracle world built in, used to love playing Enduro Racer, Sonic, Collumns, Asterix & Cool Spot. After that i'd enjoy the delights of the Snes with Street Fighter II bundled together with it, I adored Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Super Mario Allstars, Starfox, The Secret Of Mana, Battletoads, Killer Instinct, Tiny Toon Adverntures, F Zero & Mortal Kombat I, II & III!

After that was PC games and some Amiga games inbetween the two consoles, then the Sony Playstation came along and it was Ridge Racer, Tomb Raider & Super Puzzle Fighter & Bond Games that kept me entertained. I never had an N64 but did have a Jaguar (and later regretted it) During the early console days I loved the Arcades and Street Fighter I was actually the first arcade i played, with a red haired Ryu.

I've never gone for the Xbox be it the first generation or the 360, it's not that I don't like it or anything just that I started my next generation gaming with the PSOne and then got the PS2 and it went from there and seemed the natural progression to buy the PS3 (which i've only had since summer this year).

When I had the playstation and the 2 consoles that followed it there was one series of games that i've had which has to be Grand Theft Auto, i played it first on the PC, then got it again when I got the Playstation and from thern on i was hooked! I adore GTA and recently saw the 5th installment and i'm really looking forward to it, i'm loving GTA IV at the moment and love the open world like Infamous 1 & 2 and Batman where I came roam around cuasing having, beating up thugs or side missions to my hearts content.

If the future I may consider buying into the Xbox sides of things….. I really loved the look of Gears Of War and other games and may get it when it's really cheap and buy a whole back catalogue of Xbox specific games to see what i've missed, there's nothing to stop me having both Xboth & PS3 (apart from affording it that it).

As for hand-helds I had a Sega Game Gear, Nintendo Gameboy Advanced, Playstation Portable, Nintendo DS Lite and now a 3DS….. i'm bitterly dissapointed with the 3DS but Mario Kart 7 looks interesting.

Enough ranting then smile

Hi Classicgamer

I was thinking custard cream good solid start and ketchup this is my kind of guy then i noticed the jaffa cake remark (shakes head and looks sad) oh you nearly spoiled it there. But you came back with secret of mana. I love that game i couldn't find it in the shops myself but my best mate found it randomly in a mail order cataloge. We spent the whole summer powering through that bad boy. Also crono-trigger was amazing. Time travel in games has never beaten that one. I heard it was comming to the PSN but i haven't seen it on there yet.

I was thinking in the new year (if I haven't got it for chrimbo) to get Skyrim, I kinda like that genre of games and i've heard nothing but good reviews. I'm a big big fan of games like Uncharted, Prince Of Persia, GTA series and the like, but recently been enjoying Dante's Inferno, LOTR & other, i'm thinking about getting Skyrim, Saints Row The Third, COD MW3 & possibly Red Dead Redemption Zombie.

Currently playing GTA IV still, Arkham City, Uncharted 3 & Battlefield 3….. all on the PS3.

Enjoying Batman Arkham Asylum on my iMac.

Got Mario Kart 7 for chrimbo for the 3DS, and might look into getting the Mario Land 3D too.
