Hello to all at Midlife Gamer!
Very pleased to find a site like this that supports and serves those gamers who refused to put away the controllers when society expected them to…hope you'll have me, I am house trained and promise to leave my shoes at the door.
My name is Matthew, a 37 year old gamer and hairy Border Morris dancing Welshman (think black faces, top hats, purple rags and big sticks!). Happily married with two rugrats, my gaming time is limited but precious.
Always had games in and around my life, from the lowly 16k Electron through to the trusty Amstrad CPC464 (it's got a built in tape player?…Cool…), the Commodore Amiga, PC, PS1, PS2 and right up to present day where I have saved my spare change to invest in a PS3 (ID: gearyboy) and Xbox 360 (Gamertag: MaGe1974).
Favourite genre must be RPG, I have lost count of the hours poured into Oblivion and am counting the seconds until Skyrim. FPS / RPG hybrids also float my boat, think Bioshock and Mass Effect (My game at the mo is Deus Ex). Any remaining seconds are spent playing FIFA or getting shot to bits by the next generation (blast their faster reflexes and keener minds!) in the usual CoD / Battlefield type games or trying out gaming oddities such as Deadly Premonition (LOVE this game) and Catherine.
Am liking the increase in gaming co-op opportunities these days (I prefer playing alongside people rather than being shot to ribbons by them) but, due to limited playing time, have preferred those games where drop in and out are possible.
Ah, I am rambling now so better sign off
. Looking forward to reading more on the site, keep up the good work!
