Well hello Midlife Gamers!

My names Matt, I'm 39, currently live in Portsmouth and my gaming roots can be traced all the way back to the Atari 2600, prior to that I was an arcade junkie. Console of choice is the Xbox 360 and every game listed on my gamercard is still in my possession (mainly due to the fact it makes me feel violent when I'm offered silly money for a trade in on new games).

I'm lucky enough to have a good lady (aka Morbid Gibbon) who's as much of a gamer as I am, hence we own x2 consoles so no arguments occur. She'll be joining over the next few days, and I'm currently on a bit of a recruitment drive amongst the more social gamers I know.

Myself, I'm a pretty social so if people need me to make numbers up or just wish to add me for future use I'll accept invites, and am online most nights/weekends as I'm currently saving for our wedding. Only request is please put MLG in the invite so I know your not some 12yr old trying to boost COD.

Now my biscuit of choice has to be the understated 'Ginger Nut'.

Reason : Because you can make 'Ginger Nut' cake. (involves laying entire packet on a plate, covering it in spray on cream from a can, put 100's & 1000's on the top or what ever else you want, place in the fridge for 30mins. After that it can be cut with a knife and eaten….mmmmm!)

My beverage of choice is 'Vodka & diet Coke'

Reason : To much sugar makes me bounce of the walls, plus I can drink it til sunrise without falling over.

Look forward to getting to know you all and hopefully will meet some of you prior to the Expo on the Friday. thumbs-up

Ginger Nuts rule! In my house even the spiders eat my ginger nuts. Lol. Its true! How lucky are you having me being the first to welcome you into our cosy midst. Ha ha. Look forward to your good lady wife-to-be joining us too we deffo need some more girly members amongst us. Pity you're not on the PS3 though as I'm a PS3er only but there are plenty of decent Mlg folk you'll get to know over on the 360 side. See you on the forums. smile

Welcome aboard the good ship MLG Toxic!

Gotta say that is some impressive self restraint if you’re still got all of your games…you must have enough to build an extension on the back of your house! I see that you’re also knocking on the door of 100,000K gamerscore.

I’ve always wondered…do you have a particular achievement in mind that you are saving to take you over that magical 100K? Or will you just let it wash over you?

So will you and your good lady be heading to Eurogamer Expo? Post up in the thread below which days you’ll be attending.

You do know that you have got a friend for life in Cherry, now that you have mentioned Ginger Nuts.

I have been trying to get Cherry to buy a 360 but im not convincing enough. Maybe your Ginger Nut cake could push her towards becoming a multi console house hold?

Ive just noticed that you have got Borderlands there. If your up for it do you want to join us at the weekends on our Borderlands revisted run through? ( We are all around the level 29 mark.)

Thanks for the warm welcome people, it's much appreciated! So to respond in order of greeting :

CherryScones : I'm both proud and pleased that a fellow Ginger Nut connoisseur was the first to welcome me in to the fold (even though you don't own an Xbox awesome ). My good lady will be pleased to know that there's other lady members and will no doubt introduce herself to you when she joins.

Adamski UK : My games collection got to the stage where my DVD's went the way of the Dodo via Ebay to make room after backing them up on an external hard-drive. There's no one achievement that I want to push me over the 100k mark but I do plan to play and obtain the outstanding 900GS from Eternal Sonata to push me over the milestone. Ref. Eurogamer meet, I'll fill out the form after posting this response to reserve mine and my plus one.

DrunkRogue68 : Cheers for the nod ref my Gamerscore! There is a price to pay to get it – I'm now allergic to sunlight and have lost all my natural pigmentation. If you look at some of the games I've played you'll see some that made me want to apologise to my Xbox for being such a Gamerscore whore and even considering putting them in the disc tray; 'CSI Hard Evidence, LOST Via Domus, Avatar : The Burning Earth' to name a few.

BROTHER BROWN : If Cherry feels anyway I do about the Xbox, I'm sure there's no tempting her away from her PS3 although we should never stop trying! Ref. Boarderlands you can count me in anytime as I love the game. I work Sunday's so would be evenings only but Saturday's I'm sure I can make time as and when needed. Must let you know though that I'm at level 64 so it will raise the enemy level. The plus being you will rank up quicker and the weapons should be worth more!!

Also loved the idea that if it/they or them don't talk it's not cheating and ran this by better half. Her response was that she'd break my Ginger Nut's if I ever tried…
