Hi guys

I'm Tony, 33 from Liverpool, been a member of midlife gamer for about a year but have not got round to intoducing myself, sorry about that !!

I'm married with 2 kids and currently own a PS3. Recent games i have played include Uncharted 3, Fifa 12 and LA Noire. I also have Arkham city and AC Revalations to look forward to after reciving them for Xmas.

Not really a fan of FPS games (probably got somthing to do with the fact i'm pretty crap at them) and have never played an RPG before, I am interested in playing one especially with all the talk about how good skyrim is, would love some sugestions on what RPG would be best for a beginner like myself

 Thanks

             Tony

Welcome to MLG. I will leave it to others to ask the usual questions. Everyone here is very friendly.

Aside from Fallout 3, i have never been into RPGs but i would recommend Skyrim as a very good start. I find it very simple to play, controls are easy to learn and the skill/levelling up system, while deep, is easy enough to get to grips with. One note of caution, it is a massive time sink and you could easily spend over 100 hours playing this. It is the only game i have spent over 40 hours playing and im only a fraction through the main quest line.

If you post your psn name, ill drop you a FR. Hope to catch you online soon, perhaps for a game of fifa (i note your avatar, spurs fan myself).

Welcome aboard the good ship Midlife Gamer Tony!

(Well, more like, welcome on deck as you've obviously been hiding as a stowaway for a while!)

So, family man eh? Do the wife and kids game at all or do you have it all to yourself…thats how mine works…I'm not forcing the kids to play…unless its for a Gamerscore challenge!

You're sure to get a game of Fifa 12 with some of the community if you take a gander at the Multiplayer Meeting Post thread.

I'm a one console family (Xbox) so we will just have to make do with banter on the forums…unless you have a Twitter account?

I only just got LA Noire…really enjoying it so far, although I have been warned that it gets tedius….but I'm in it for the long haul – no spoilers please wink

Oh, and just how Italian are you Tony?

Biscuit and beverage of choice has to be chocolate hobnob and diet cherry coke

The wife is not really into gaming but my kids have just started playing with little big planet 2 a particular favorite, luckily santa brought a couple of 3DS's so that should keep them occupied and allow me a bit of gaming in peace.

My PSN name is ACG78 and i will checkout the multiplayer thread hopfully get online for a few games of FIFA

and to answer you question i am not a bit Italian, just a nickname given by an old mate (don't know why ???) and it kind of stuck !!!

Welcome Tony.

Would second skyrim though it can be a little confusing ( vague perhaps more accurate) at times but good fun.

Would also recommend fallout/fallout new vegas as well as mass effect 1/2 which though are  part fps you don't really don't need to be good at the shooting to enjoy them and they are all nice and cheap smile
