It's been awhile since I've registered and after Hugo told me to introduce myself, I thought I should!

I've been listening to the MLG Podcast for nearly 2 years now, even being mentioned on Podcast 66 as a iTunes reviewer, but have not joined in on discussion in till now.

I'm 25 years old and live in the UK in Surrey.  I enjoy Motorsport, Film, Music, Travel, Photography and of course, Videogames.

I started with a Master System + Sonic the Hedgehog when I was around 5 years old and have witnessed the switch from 2D to 3D, the twilight years of the Arcade, the conception of Online gaming and the move from Cartridge to the Disc.  Despite this, I don't feel mid life but certainly have the mentality of a Mid Life Gamer!  I've also made this pass time my profession, working as a Developer for part of our Tools & Editing department.

Some of my desert island discs are Mario 64, Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, Zelda Ocarina of Time, Half Life 2, Ico, Resident Evil 2, Tomb Raider, Gran Turismo 4, Age of Empires 2 and Halo Combat Evolved.  Currently I'm seeing the end of Red Dead Redemption, Limbo (I second Darren's opinion) and I've just picked up Left 4 Dead 2 for some Co-Op.

Hopefully, I'll spend some more time on this forum and have the chance to chat about games and life, along with MLG!

Finally, it's got to be a cup of Twinings Everyday Tea and M&S Chocolate Digestive.  Lovely!

I'm very confused, but that's probably just me. Perhaps there's some mental block that's stopping me from seeing it, or maybe there's more to Halo than people have been letting on.

Anyway.

Welcome!

I'm also confused by Twinnings Everyday Tea. I have a box of it that's been in the cupboard Everyday for weeks because it's undrinkable. Each to their own. You certainly can't fault those M&S ourfoodissexierfood adverts.

And the moral of this story is 'always do what kindly old uncle Hugo tells you to' unless of course there's a better option that some mad old dear at the bus stop mumbled to her long dead husband.

Its a fine opening post and the pornography aside *sighs* I have a real question!

Lately there have been a number of 'industry' type people joining up here and I'd like to know if the site and podcast reflect what those people actually feel about gaming today? Or are we just an amusing bunch of loons?

Welcome to MLG Awesome

Thanks so much for the warm replies, it's good to join the community.

I'm glad Pornography is enjoyed just as much as Photography around here, I'll just keep any limbs and / or orifices away from Lofty!

Thanks for the offer from Cherry Scones and others but I'm afraid I'm currently PS3 less as I rock with a 360 only at the moment.  I'll pick up a PS3 when GT5 is released so maybe then!  I've also included my 360 in my sig, for keeping track of scores.

I have not gone climbing at the Sports Centre but I go swimming a few miles away, slightly different work out though!

Finally to answer Hugo, I guess in a number of ways, MLG reflects the majority of what games I enjoy and many of my own thoughts about the industry.  Just like all of you, we're not easily grouped under one header so I guess it's difficult to answer what does the industry feel about gaming today.  I grew up in the 80's and have a nostalgic view of Arcades and the more simple times of the days.  However, I relish what modern technology allows developers to now create, along with online communication and more practical hardware.

Despite some differences, I hope I could also be classed under an amusing bunch of loons!  smile

I went to Gulford once… got stuck there for the afternoon waiting for a friend to return from a meeting.

Managed to pass the time by using a combination of Hubba Bubba and an empty Mineral Water bottle to manufacture and affix a large transparent penis to The statue of Archbishop George Abbot at the top of Gulford High Street.

Welcome youth.. Im new here to… very friendly bunch…

I'm not saying I'm against the pornography, but I prefer something be left to the imagination, which the modern pornography tends not to do.

Welcome aboard the good ship MLG Wools!

I see you have Forza there on your play list….well you could do worse than spread the MLG love by plastering some MLG Vinyl’s all over your garage collection….

Check out my Storefront in Forza 3 and help your self to some sweet graphics (Yes, I spent more time making those than bloody racing!)

Its about time we had a bit of a get together on Forza!
