Let me just say I think your site is fantastic. I discovered it after reading Brendan Caldwell's great AOE2 piece then googling him and finding MLG. I was floored by the depth of your How-To page and expect to use it quite a lot, whether for my own blog or for submissions to MLG. I will admit that as an American I have precious little knowledge of biscuits and what type of sauce should grace my sausage sandwiches… so go easy with the inquisition!

My name is Walker and I'm 24 years old. A year ago I landed a CM job with a gaming company, which has opened my eyes to many facets of this industry I hadn't ever considered. Predictably, I decided the only practical way to cope would be to start a casual (the blog, not the games) games blog. That led to WASD in Translation, an little experiment into which I've dumped 5 whole posts.

The name is a tribute to my PC gaming roots, though nowadays I split my time fairly equally between PC and PS3. I also spend far more time on Twitter than I rightly should, but I derive great pleasure from awkwardly engaging my favorite writers and developers in short bursts of masturbatory opinioning.

Not sure yet whether I'll continue writing for my own blog or start submitting here (is both an option?) but for now I'm just excited to start reading other folks' stuff and chiming in on the forums.

Alright then – do your worst!

Thanks guys! In that case, white chocolate + macadamia nut wink

I recently put Red Dead Redemption and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood on hold to try out the Killzone 3 Open Beta. I'm really enjoying it but also struggling as I'm not used to console FPS (same situation w/ Black Ops). You gonna pick up KZ3 this week?

Thanks! If I decide to publish in both places I'll make sure to link them to each other.

My dad introduced me to Myst, Sim City 2000, and Diablo at the tender age of 9. I played some N64 and PS1 as a kid but my love for

PC really grew in the late 90s with Half-Life, Starcraft, Diablo 2, and Age of Empires 2. My favorite PC game of all time is still Tribes 2… I

would have called my blog ESDF in Translation in honor of T2, but it doesn't quite roll off the tongue :P My MMO dark secret: when I was 17, I dumped my girlfriend so I could play more WoW… not too proud of that one!

Thank you! I have a bunch of multiplayer games I play occasionally but as for what I'm on regularly – mostly L4D2 and TF2 on PC, and Black Ops on PS3. I haven't tried the multiplayer in AC Brotherhood or RDR yet, but I really need to! I will check out the thread for sure.

Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone, I look forward to getting to know you!

Thats coz your lazy hiding out on that roof while Im getting mauled by the blokes with dead eyes…….actually thats sounds like a typical night out in St Helens for me…Lol.  Try shooting some Brownie and headshots all the way, you can do it I know you've got it in you somewhere.  Ha ha.  awesome

You'll get on well with Lofty then. You'll have to FR him he's meant to be good at it according to his comments in another thread something about the Guiness World Records Association contacting him about his amazing score on the beta KZ3, incidentally that no one witnessed. rofl

Oh yes you definitely do have to try RDR multiplayer at least once anyway.  You're missing out, its tons of fun.  smile

Welcome aboard the good ship MLG Walk_Star!

Like Hugo said, the door for contributions here at MLG is always open…it would be nice to hear about your role at the gaming company, non disclosure agreements not withstanding of course!

I heard WoW can take hold of people, but dumping your girlfriend for it…at SEVENTEEN is nuts! You we're 'balls deep' in the wrong past time! wink

You're in the right place here!

See you on the boards!

Alright Paul nice to meet you buddy (go team 18-30s).

An thanks for the FR as well Paul, it was very forward of you. I happened to try that approach with a young woman/girl a short while back, it ended badly.

An yes it is I, I am the KZ3 war horse that Cherry speaks of 9450 on the open beta (yes they are great stats), so if you fancy a game brother give us a shout.

Thanks Lofty & killasaw! Btw my real first name is Walker… I had made my PSN ID "paulwalker" because in 2008 when i got the PS3 my roommate's name was Paul… we thought it'd be funny as there's an American film star named Paul Walker. several dozen groupie FRs later ("omg r u da real paul walker??? luv ur films m8 wats ur mw2 kdr"), i realized our error in judgment rofl

I can understand that Walker…. exactly why I had to drop my Lionel_Blair XBox Live username… ended up with swarms of middle aged women sending me webcam photos of their precious parts!

Im just about to dive back into PC gaming so if you fancy some Battlefield/Starcraft II action just drop me the nod… and welcome aboard sir.

Cheers Mat smile The only multiplayer titles I've got on PC are Crysis 2 Demo (username: walk_star), L4D, L4D2, TF2, and Minecraft. I've been kicking myself in the head (doable if you're determined) for not picking up BFBC2 in the Holiday Steam sales last year when it was $7 or some other ungodly price. I'd rather wait until BF3 at this point, but enough prodding may win me over in the end laugh
