I've been listening to the podcast for a long time and I like the unbiased nature of the show and the community so I thought I'd drop a post on here to let you know I exist and am open to friend requests on PSN or XBL and will try and participate in the forums here.
A bit about me:
Well, I'm 37, love writing Software, which is my job, and am currently writing an XBLIG game in XNA.
I like everything to do with games new and old, have all the current systems and just like all the gaming culture stuff that comes with it. My preferred system is the PS3 but I also like a lot of the 360 library and despite not using the Wii much I have a huge appreciation for Nintendo (I grew up on NES).
I tweet a lot (mostly about games) and my PSN, XBL and twitter username is: onyxbox
Speak to you soon,

Welcome aboard the good ship MLG onyxbox!
Glad you finally buckled and signed up to the site…we’re expecting some critical commentary as you’re ’in the business’!
And I see you’re in North Wales…haven’t been that way for an age. Looking forward to the summer when I’ll be taking the kids to endure the delights of Llanberis et al.
So what sort of software is it you do, if you don’t mind my asking…
I’ll leave the next member of the welcoming party ask the obligatory question about food n drink.
Oh, and you might do well to bounce a friend request to the 360 gamertag ‘amidlifegamer’….it might be full, but you can still view it’s friends.
Llanberis is just down the road.. and yeah… I know what you mean, my kids get dragged to places like that from time to time
I write mainly enterprise database applications… .Net, c#, MS SQL, asp.net…. that sort of thing. The XNA stuff seemed like a natural fit with my current set of skills. I dabble a little in other programming languages such as Python but it's mainly c# .net these days.
I've been a professional software dev for about 17 years now… they've made me a manager now but it's really just a title and I get to sign peoples expenses etc. I'm still really a coder just with a little bit extra responsibilities.
I'll check out the gamertag and start adding people… love the show and as you know I've already tracked a few people down on twitter.
Occasionally I like to write about video games… I wrote a couple of articles for 16bits.co.uk last year around the time Eurogamer expo was on (http://www.16bits.co.uk/halo-r…..ch-review/) as a bit of a favor and enjoyed it so I you never know I might even blog one off here from time to time
Speaking of which, I think this year I'll stay down overnight and perhaps join the MLG for a meetup in the pub. By the sounds of the podcast and video's I missed out there
Anyhow, thanks for the reply.
Speak to you soon.

Hey Onyx, your name does ring a bell from your frequent podcast questions.
I'm the caretaker editor at MLG and process all the articles before they hit the frontpage. As my fellow cohorts have been illuding, we would be really interested in reading your thoughts, being an insider an all! Any time you get the urge to write anything or need help with all things blog related, don't hesitate in sending me a message and I'll hook you up, G!

After giving this much tought I have to say that my favorite biscuit is the Garibaldi combined with a nice cuppa' Tetley (white, no sugar).
alcoholbeverage would have to be Jack Daniels (neat on ice)
p.s. I take it you only know 3 Welshmen

Welcome to the mighty MLG forums matey…
I dont know any Welsh people but when I was in my early teens myself and my girlfriend at the time gave each others precious parts Welsh names to facilitate dirty talk in public without being detected. I have very happy memories up snuggling up to her ample Kendricks and she would often grab my Gwyngad at the most inappropriate moments.
What do you play online sir?

I mostly play offline but I like BFBC2 on PSN however if this hacking business gets out of hand I think the next version will be on 360.
I used to play a bit of Halo 2 back in the day but I find I don't have the time to get good enough at online games these days to have a great game… it's eiither that or my age
I enjoy co-op from time to time such as Gears of War, Halo, Borderlands etc. (haven't tried Uncharted) but I'm all about the single player usually… I suppose it's like sitting down with a good book, if that makes any sense.
