So after a long time of uming and ahing I've finally decided to grow a pair and join the community here! Truth be told I've actually be listening to the podcast since the very early episodes back when I was a part of the NFP but for a while now just really fell silent when it came to the gaming world and I sort of feel the need to get back into it.

About me then…well I'm 20 (so not really midlife), a student at Chester Uni doing Graphic Deisgn and Photography. I mainly play on the xbox although I have a fair healthy dose of PC games but my crappy laptop can't run most of them now which is a bugger. I paint warhammer 40k minis and read a few comics so it's safe to say I'm a fair bit nerdy :P

Um…yea I think that'll sum me up in a nutshell quite nicely. Oh also is the blog writing thing open to anyone? As I wouldn't mind writing a few opinion pieces here and there once I figure out what to write.

A Hoy Hoy MistaGav!

Welcome to the boards.. I'm glad you've finally made the jump and got your
balls into the forum!  There’s plenty to get involved in. What game are you into? If you want to join in with any of the forum community nights head over the MP threads and sign up. wink

What year of Uni are you in? I studied Design and Photography at
Staffordshire Uni so i understand what you’re going through.

You have forgotten to answer the key opening questions – Favourite Biscuit
and Beverage. AND what sauce do you rock with your breakfast sarnie?

Hello there nice young fresh person. I can forgive you your youth but students (Apart from Mr Phizzy) make me angry.

To atone for your all too obvious academic sins you must tell me what games you like to play. Don't go getting all smart with big words or there will be trouble.

Welcome to MLG smile

Ooooo so many questions, must try and answer them all!

Ok so I'm second year of uni and doing my work placement atm, It involves Second Life which is a bizzarre concept. Biscuit and beverage aye? Have to be a good ol cup of tea and Bourbons…me and my housemates have so much tea it's unreal. As for sauce it'd have to be brown sauce but I mainly have Cereal because I'm simple.

As for games i'm pretty much open to as much stuff as possible including finding smaller titles and indie games cos I'm a bit hipster! Problem is though my xbox live wireless dongle is at my brothers back in Stevenage so if you see me online playing Black ops then it's a good chance that's him and not me though I am trying to get through L.A Noire at the moment. (I am also partial to a bit of Facebook games too I should add wink). I figured that if I get into an online community again I might be a bit more motivated to play games again as it's been a bit lonely for me and there are lots I have missed out on, would you believe I haven't played Borderlands or Red Dead!

My gamertag is Mista Gav (uppercase too) and my steam ID is MistaGav I think…but yea that should be everything, oh where is everyone getting these fancy gamertag sigs from?

Alright Gav nice to meet you buddy (go team 18-30s).

An your simple too hay, well Gav I think you'll find im the simplest one around here. Let me tell you, no one can burn their balls drinking tea as well as I can, or manage to rip their finger through the toilet paper as your wiping your arse as often as I.

No, no I am he that they speak of, behold Gavin.

Welcome aboard the good ship MLG MistaGav!

Warhammer 40K painting eh? Do you do it in the GW shop or in the comfort of your own home?

(I was a Warhammer painter of Elves back in the day…but that was just to keep my mind occupied and was a chance to get creative!)

Looking forward to seeing what you decide to write about in an upcoming blog.

I roll with the Dark Angels space marines but mainly working on a Deathwing and Ravenwing armies that never seem to get finished. Mostly because of lack of funds or can't be bothered to paint. That's all I really stick with and mainly paint from home as I find it too intimidating to go into GW now as things are so expensive and I don't want their staff waddling up to me trying to sell me stuff!

I saw the ultramarines film and thought it was pretty pants but I am excited about the game though. I really love the Dawn of War games too but sadly my laptop isn't running them so well so until I can save up for my dream gaming PC it's having to wait for some time. My biggest problem with the space marine game and the film is that they are based on the most bland and generic of all the SM chapters in the 40k universe and make it even more generic by adding Orks and Chaos…I mean this is a universe with space pirates, vikings, wolves, robot zombies, vampires, Strange fish men in mecha suits, Space nuns, Daemons and more but the best they could do is the guys who are good at everything and their evil half step brothers!!! Gah frustrates me so much! laugh

Hi Mistagav

Welcome to MLG I totally agree with you that the ultramarines are totally bland and lacking in personality and the games could be made much better using a chapter with some personality.

Hi There!

Welcome to MLG smile Bourbons and tea are the shit. I'm telling you now though, if you are a tea drinker like myself, you NEED PGtips 'THE FRESH ONE' in your life.

@bob I think it would be brilliant to play as the inquisition as I can imagine that would make for a good game. Rounding up a squad of weirdos and freaks and then purging the galaxy!

@Misogyny Oh we do have PG tips! In fact we have a big box of 240 to last us for some time…most students at uni do rounds of shots but we do rounds of Tea. laugh
