So it's kind of like Independence Day, but without all the utter bollocks? I might rent it.

Looks decent, if you get chance to watch Skyline http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1564585/ , don't bother, it's shite, apparently it cost $10 to make, I think they spent it all on making the advert for the film, it's got some of the worst acting ever, and characters you couldn't give a toss about if the lived or died, and the worst ending I've seen in years. One film worth checking out is called 'Monsters' http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1470827/ a very low budget film about 2 people trying to cross a quarantine zone that is infected with ET's, due out in December.

It's directed by someone who's only done low budget chop flims before and features pretty much zero actors of note (headliner aside) I kind of getting the feeling that after D9's sucess everyone+dog is now jumping on the zero budget sci-fi extravaganza, unfotunatly skyline was a good example of how not to do it.
D9 managed to be bloody fantastic but this is not the D9 sequal.
I won't get my hopes up.

NO NO NO!!! I agree D9 is bloody fantastic, but it does not need a sequal! Why does there always need to be a sequal. Please tell me there not doing one?

The advert looked dead good didn't it I really wanted to go see it, luckily I managed to read a few reviews first and that dreadful day never happened.
Nice one for the Monsters shout though, ill be keeping me eye out for this bad boy, cause the christmas line up upto now isn't looking to hot so ill be defo giving this one a go.
The one im looking forward to in the new year is the J J Abram's and Speilberg collaboration Super 8 this is looking big.
Ps- Ormsbix im with you District 9 was incredible, I said in another thread that this is in my top 5 but the thought of them actually doing a sequel would be a huge mistake, the final scene where he's an alien an he drops the flower off is how I want to remember it.

Yeah Lofty you twat, use the spoiler option next time (I've already seen it, but Browny and probably numerous others haven't, and now you've ruined it for them. Next you'll be telling everybody that Bruce Willis was a ghost in the 6th Sense!)

Now now you two, enough of the lovers' tiff. If you don't behave I shall have to slap both of your backsides and sit you both on my naughty step. So be warned. Lol.

Great post Ormsbix. I gotta put my cards on the table as a film nut and say I am REALLY looking forward to that one.
This week though I've mostly been getting excited about the Green Lantern.
Check it out here (good site for checking trailers generally too!)

howdy all,i like the look of monsters except it's filmed in *vomit'o'vision* (like the blair witch film was) which is guaranteed to make me ill… watched skyline yesterday and i will never get that time back!
Battle,Los Angles looks right up my street i have to say. i just hope they keep the patriotism to a realistic lvl.
