My lad. Time for a change of pace.

Get into your roots. Try getting into MAME. Do something techie like building yourself a Fightstick with LED buttons.

Or get thee to a pinball museum. Do they have those things there?

I know I'm projecting what works for me but, MAN, there are some cool ass pinball games out there. Maybe getting back to the roots and exploring the chaos element of a "live ball" will charge your batteries.

Dear brother Jim,

The opening tone of your thread causes me some concern, but worry not.  This is the natural order of things.  Don't fight it.

You're just about to embark on a new stage of your life.  You've beaten the final boss of your school days and you're just entering the college level.  Meeting and making all new friends.  All those women.  The possibility of the driving licence.  You're also not far off from legal drinking with your new found friends.

What I'm saying is that you're just on the verge of one of the most exciting times in your life.  Don't worry about the video games.  They'll always be there if you ever feel the need.  I've had long absences in my playing career.  I even missed a whole generation but it's something you can always come back to.  Then you'll start getting beaten at your favourite games by the youth of the future, maybe your own children, then you'll realise that the torch has been passed on.  You'll stop playing games competitively because you won't have the time to practise, and you'll just play them just like you did when you first started…because they're fun.

I envy you James.  The whole world about to open up at your feet.  Enjoy it.  Although it's never going to be an easy time.  Life is very often hard but these next few years are going to be the years which you'll look back on with the most fondness.  I certainly do.

I look forward to hearing your tales of drunken debauchery.  Go get 'em brother Jim.

Your friend,

Wayne. kiss

Meh…gaming comes and goes. I've dropped out loads of times but then it comes back in a different way than how I left it. Just like sometimes I get into reading loads or travelling or exercise and that fades away. Try not to analyze it too much, just go do something different for a bit. Some people do one thing single mindedly for decades, other people roam about a bit. Both are fine.

i'm actually using Nero MediaHome 4 now, it came with my new LG Blu Ray player with wifi and DLNA so i can stream to the tv in the family room as well as the ps3 in the livingroom.

The main cause of my streaming problems turned out to be my dlink router which kept dropping it connection. I now have a tp-link with   100% connection strength and its all good.
