Since this has now landed on the PS3 (as well as PC and some Blu-Ray players) and a few of us have LoveFilm accounts, I thought it was time for recommendations and quality finds.  Please, only movies/tv shows that are free or included as part of the subscription, not pay-per-view. Let's start the ball rolling:

- "Let the Right One In". See it over the remake, unless you've got a total phobia about subtitles.

- "Return of the Living Dead". Bonkers 80's zombie movie. "Send… more… cops…"

- "Primer". A cult favourite around these parts and the best "hard sci-fi" movie about time-travel ever. It'll tie your brain in knots.

…and for the older generation, you'll find the complete "Thunderbirds" and "Captain Scarlet" wink

Great idea sir.

Under doc's there is Dungeon Masters – not the best doc made, but it does follow some interesting people and has a lot of dice!

And these parts! thumbs-up Absolutely cracking film.

I also found it on that MUBI PS3 thing, although I'm not sure how that works!!!

Is Dungeon Masters that one with the girl who paints herself up to be a Dark Elf? What a nutter!

I'm mostly using it to watch documentary's and such as the quality of the streams is pretty shoddy but it can be useful for those films you want to check out but can't be arsed wasting a rental on them.

Also they do have a lot of low budget zombie films on there which are always worth checking out. As MonkeysDad said Return of the Living Dead is well worth a watch.

One thing that they should have is a Recently Added tab as I'm never sure what's new to the service.

I got to see this dungeon Master doc,

Aaaaah I remeber the days, Playing D&D at school, getting battered at least once a week for being a nerd. Great days..

I watched Beowolf on it and the quality was shoddy at best, but it had just come out so hopefully its better now.

Primer sounds like a watch and a half so I will give that a shot, anyone seen Teeth? is it worth a gander?

Teeth is pretty good.

On one hand it's a parable about female sexual awakening and empowerment.

On the other it's about a girl who can cut your cock off with her vag.

Depends on your point of view, really. smile

Yeah, I really liked Primer (alot of good stuff on Tartan), just be careful though cause you really need to be intelligent to watch it. So obviously just delete yourself were applicable.

An really liked Let The Right One In too, the ending made me sad but in a really happy way.

Blimey, "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" has gone up.

Two good lead performances, but be warned, it gets a little rape-y in places.

I found the solution to "Primer", too (Do not click 'til you've seen it…).

Simples!

It's a little hokey now, but "Westworld" is a fun little movie. Especially to see how much Michael Crichton re-hashed his own story to make "Jurassic Park". Still, if I just say "Robot cowboys" I must surely pique your interest a little. Yul Brynner's basically The Terminator in a stetson. smile

"Pandorum" is for anyone who digs Dead Space or Event Horizon.

"Triangle" keeps up my run of time-travel movies, this one's got more of a horror vibe.

And bless crazy ol' Mel Gibson's phone calls, 'cause "Edge of Darkness" only came out this time last year, and it's already dropped to free.

Not seen it yet, but this is on my To Watch list for the weekend.

And in related news, Amazon has just bought the rest of Lovefilm.

Hopefully this means they'll now have some serious money to license more content and we might finally get a UK equivalent of Netflix.

Triangle is a weird one and worth a look.

I'm a big Timothy Olyphant fan, loving Justified at the moment, so i'd recommend 'A Perfect Getaway'.

Another one i stumbled accross was 'Happy Accidents' starring Marisa Tomei (Untamed Heart, The Paper) and Vincent D'Onofrio

Hopefully they are still watch onlime, i notice a few titles, like Rampage, have been removed and are rental only now so i'm guessing the playlist is constantly being updated.

Looks like Happy Accidents has gone. Shame, I'd like to watch more of Brad Anderson's other films (The Machinist is on streaming. Watch it, try not to feel hungry from just looking at how thin Christian Bale is).

Second on the Timothy Olyphant appreciation. Justified was brilliant. A Perfect Getaway also has Milla Jovovich in wet clothes for most of the film, so there's that too. thumbs-up

Ray Winstone in Edge of Darkness is pretty good.

But that's probably because I like Ray Winstone

He reminds me of my Mum

confused I literally have nothing to say to that, Hugo.

Still, watched it now. It's a pleasant diversion, but god-damn Mel Gibson got old!

If it's more Ray you want, you might want to try this. Not seen it myself yet, but it's got quite a cast in it.

Seen it, John Hurt is brilliant in it.

If you don't mind the whole cast continually using c#%t in every line its very enjoyable.

Finally, they've put an index together.

Looks like it includes PPV, but still handy. They've got Rex the Runt! laugh

"The Hurt Locker" has just gone up. Consider it your duty as a man to see it.

If you have seen it, try "Lebanon", it's like "Das Boot" in a tank. And a true story, too.

If you're not a nervous, sweating wreck from the tension after either those two… well, there's something wrong with you. wink

Microsoft have FINALLY announced Lovefilm on the 360. They've also seen sense and relented on the requirement for a gold subscription to allow iPlayer (plus 4OD and Channel 5).

I had a quick look over new to streaming while I was at it. It looks like they're in the midst of adding all of the films from (the sadly now-defunct) Hong Kong Legends label.

Seriously, if you've never seen "The Killer" or "Ong-Bak" you need to get on the case. I can only hope that "Once upon a Time in China" is going up soon too.

Not streamed but the original Edge of darkness is fantastic, not exactly cheerful viewing though smile.
