I thought it would interesting to see where abouts all us Midlife Gamers stay, so I have created a collaborative Google Map to chart our locations.

This could potentially allow us to do more as a community and we can see who local to us.

You can view it here: http://g.co/maps/vnxmu

Add your location pin point with your username as its title and lets see who is out there!

 Thanks

Games247

*UPDATE*

1. Click on the link http://g.co/maps/vnxmu

2. Sign in to Google

3. Put your postcode in the Search box

4. Left click on the pointer and "Save to Map" (if you have multiple maps, select (MLG Map)

5. Top left of the page (above the list of people) click Edit

6. Click on your address and you'll get a popup box

7. Edit the title with your name

8. Move the pointer if needed by just clicking and dragging

9. Click Save (on the top left menu)

10. Click Done (on the top left menu)

Thanks to D5120 for the detailed steps!

I think this is a good idea, problem was that it took me 10 minutes to try and figure out how to pin a location rofl

Do I need a Google account for this because I'm not seeing a pin function?

Either way looks like me and RBarry101 are just down the road from each other.

I think you do,  you just need to search for your postcode, click the pin it drops in place and then "save to map"

Use your MLG username as the title and away you go….

Look at GoddTodd out there on his lonesome! wink

This might not come to anything but if it allows for some MLG local meet-ups then its a positive thing!

Yeah sorry but this is retarded. Google are normally really good with user friendlyness but ive been looking at this thing for over 15 minutes now and i just can't add a pin location. Any normal person would have thought it would be right click > add map pin. But no, it's burried under tones of bad UI.

If you write up a tutorial then i might add my location.

EDIT: I coincidently moved someone's location pin -_- didn't think you could do that. Seriously… im not a tard when it comes to computers (my qualifications show that) but this is actually stupid!

Its not immediately obvious but it should work if you pop in your postcode and then left click on the Pin with an A on it. The option to save to map is then shown. Pop in your google details if prompted and viola!

Not only did I struggle to add myself, I eventually did, twice, but now can't figure out how to change my name.

Edit: Figured it out, needed to add the marker, then click on 'Edit' then delete / change text.

I think it's neat seeing all the types of neighborhoods you guys hail from.

But dare I say, they are slightly foriegn to me?

I don't need this fancy Google wotsits to share my location. Basically keep heading south-west until you run out of land, I will be there sitting on a hedge wearing a "I shot JR" T-shirt.

Thats me on but it took me ages to figure it out first everytime i entered my post code it took me to a new map by myself which wasnt right. So in the end i had to login to my google account and add the MLG map to my places then it let me add the pin. Then it took another age to figure out how to change the title to add my MLG name. But it's all done and dusted smile
