Dear Fiesta Magazine,

 

I have to write to you and tell you about an experience I had with my good lady the other day. I always thought these things happened to other guys rather than me.

 

After a hard saturday morning watching my nipper play football and finally convince him that his future lies with oval balls I returned home and saw my good lady approach me.

See piqued my interest with the line "I have a suprise for you, it's fruity and a big suprise"

I sat down in the lounge then she unvelied her delights to me.

"God it is fruity" I said

"Hmm," she said licking her lips, "It's also damn meaty"

 

She stood in front of me as I hungrily devoured ….

The bacon and banana sandwich she had concocted. Initially I thought, christ almighty has she finally gone doolally and is it time to cart her off to the funny farm? But alas she was right, for some bizzare reason the combination worked really well and I'd urge all of you to try it at least once, no sauce required, apparently it's a great cure for a hangover as well.

 

So have any other MLG readers had any similar experiences that just shouldn't work but do?

not like that but when it comes to food i like to mix things up a bit.  jacobs crackers inside two slices of bread with loads of butter..and maybe cheese.  its got a nice tasty crunch lol. or when the missus buys the cheap asda coleslaw i add double cream to make it into a premium coleslaw

Have to add to this, if your mixing things up with food then the ultimate sandwich has to be……

2 slices of bread, one with salad cream on the other with brown sauce on, slapped together and devoured.

Don't knock it til you try it :-)

Have to add my own unique twisted concoctions.

 

Grilled cheese and branston pickle toastie

cheese and sliced beetroot panini

 

and my "I'm at Grans for the summer" - Tuna mayo and pickled onion sandwiches.

Make a pot noodle, but don't put enough water in.  I like the "Bombay Bad Boy" variety.  Wait until it turns into a thick stodge.  Get a breadcake (nice, fresh and soft).  Cut in half, stick the noodle stodge in.  Devour. C'est bon!

And Deeg, I don't know if you were around for the chocolate covered bacon thread but it's simply a must try. Especialy with a few grounds of corse sea salt sprinkled on top.
