Hello my little chicken chops….
With the arrival of baby number three in a couple of weeks I haven't had a deal of time for gaming the last month or so but still managed to get my fill of my other little hobby, Urbexing! Then I though… hmmm I wonder if any of you MLG buggers are into wandering around abandoned buildings and sites, sneaking in through insecurities, playing cat and mouse with security guards, falling through unsafe floors and taking photos whilst your at it like my good self?
I have been doing it for about four years now but only just started documenting my little escapades.. this is my blogsite where I stick my fowtoes, all very safe for work…..
http://www.urbecks.com (<– see what I did there… Urbex was gone so I spelt it cool like the kidz instead)
Anyway, if any of you chuffers are into this give me a shout, Im off to sneak into St Johns mental asylum in Lincoln in a week or so and would appreciate a hand to hold lol!
All my love as always… Shatners

Awesome stuff there godtodd thanks for that! Very interesting read.
Things are a little different here in the UK, I listen to the AmericanUrbex podcast so I know things are was tougher over in the states.
In the UK trespass is not a criminal offence its civil and for any prosecution to be successful on the civil front the landowner has to prove they have suffered a significant loss. Essentially providing you do no damage, take nothing and carry nothing which could be considered going equipped for theft the police have absolutely no interest other than general duty of care for preventing you hurting yourself. We tend to stick to the rule of if your asked to leave.. leave, that way things never escalate and everyone's happy. I actually spent almost an hour hid in a stationary cupboard after a G4S security guy came up the stairs in an old Sugar Factory I was wandering around then sat down for a coffee from his flask… felt like solid snake lol! Thankfully he finally moved on so I could scuttle off.
Its great fun, brilliant to see inside the places everyone else just walks past… we had a walk around the old Sheffield crown court a few weeks ago and found a secret passage that took the judge to his quarters… amazing
I steer clear of drains… I'm involved in highways as part of my job and know just how quickly flows through culverts can ramp up, if your in the wrong place at the wrong time it must be bloody terrifying

Cheers Egg sir.. very kind
Coyote.. yeah just derelict/abandoned stuff, as well as usual buildings my current obsession is Royal Observer Core nuclear bomb observation bunkers… there were about 1500 of them built in the 60's to observe how a nuclear missile strike on the UK was affecting the population and environment and report back to central government in their bunker… your never more than nine miles away from one, been down two local to me…fascinating stuff.

Is that what they are!! Again that's really really cool.
My gran lives near one of them, in my youth I used to drink cider with my mates sitting on top of it.

Ohhh well… it transpired that the good lady who is due to give birth on boxing day had a slight emergency (thankfully a false alarm) so the trip to the lunatic asylum was postponed on Sunday.
Instead I went for a bimble around a 200 year old cotton mill which was just as bloody awesome…. some photos I took are here http://urbecks.com/#/archives/187 I found accounts books dating back to 1904!

Cheers Adamski… that tunnels sounds intriguing, will have to get down there with my big torch. I have a couple of cameras, a Canon 5DMkII which now only goes on more mundane explores following numerous run ins with hedgehog eating metal thieves and a Canon 40D. Lens wise I have a 35mm prime f1.4 and 50mm f1.8, a Canon 70-200 L series and a Sigma 10-20mm for the wide stuff.
I went around the most sinister place ever… just posted my photos up, a Catholic Boys Orphanage Home Tubirculosis hospital, never seen anything like it before lol… leg braces and equipment that looks like its from the set of The Walking Dead ! http://urbecks.com/#/archives/257

Great site Shatz, I have seen some of the ops posts near my in laws in Dover and always wondered what they where! Also was obsessed for a while when living in London about the legendary 'missing' underground stations like the BBC one. Great photos, I look forward to seeing what other places you can get into!

Bonjour my little chicken chops… thought I would give a quick update as I have done all sorts of Ninja sneaky sneaky shenanigans since my last post including a nice old hospital with a morgue, quarrys, manor houses and my favourite to date the old Sheffield Crown Courts with its full court rooms, prisoner cells and awesome clocktower whereupon I sat for hours making wierd noises at the confused people walking six stories below.
They are all here, just click the Urban Exploration Photo link on my webatron 2000 page:
