Fruit Ninja

Angry Birds

Cut the Rope

Plants vs Zombies

Battleheart

Infinity Blade (really shows what developers can do with an iPhone, runs the the Unreal Engine)

World of Goo

Ah, GeoCaching eh?!

Well, you could start with the official GeoCaching.com app. There is a free version which will point you in the direction of a select number of caches nearby.

If you like DeadSpace, then the iPhone version is pretty good.

Fancy taking retro photo's? Try Hipstamatic for free.

Like looking up at the night sky? Give Star Walk a go.

Oh, and how can anyone not mention the Midlife Gamer app….worth the price for some of the Bonus content that the dynamic duo put on there from time to time!

May I throw in a couple of goodies that serve me well.

Target Weight – is a good way of keeping on top of that waistline. Even automatically syncs up with your wireless scales.

Body Tracker – tracks more measurements of your body. Even lets you add photos for the day you measure. Just don't ask to see any of mine!!! wink

Have to agree with Red Laser, a good way to know if your getting ripped off or not.

I can also highly recommend the "360 Live" app by Juan Xavier Larrea, it logs into your Xbox live account so you can see what your online buddies are playing, you can chat to them, and even add people through it. Great for meet ups like Eurogamer smile

A couple of other apps I use:

Bump (free) - Bump™ makes sharing with people as simple as bumping two phones together. Just pick what you want to send, then hold your phones and gently bump hands with another Bump user. And now, you can message with your friends who aren't near you — just add them as a friend inside of Bump and start messaging immediately.

Dropbox (free) - Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere. After you install Dropbox on your computer, any file you save to your Dropbox will automatically save to all your computers, your iPhone and iPad and even the Dropbox website! With the Dropbox app, you can take everything that matters to you on the go.

Photosynth (free) - Interactive Panorama Capture and Sharing

Here's one I made myself at Trafalgar Square.

Songify (free) - Songify turns speech into music, automatically!

Official app of the Gregory Brothers – creators of the "AutoTune The News" series on YouTube, and other viral video hits like "Bed Intruder Song", "Double Rainbow" and "Winning!".

For all your autotune needs!

I can highly recommend these games:

Tilt to Live – fast and furious dot-killing mayhem

Osmos – totally chillax and beautiful, surprisingly addictive

Spider: Secret of Bryce Manor – be a spider! eat flies! uncover dark secrets and hidden treasure! srsly this has possibly the best gameplay mechanic I've seen on the iPhone

The Battle for Wesnoth – teeny tiny strategy game

If you have a passing interest in sim games then Game Dev Story is utterly brilliant. Also if you haven't played Plants vs Zombies yet it's a must.

Nice list here will try a few of those!

Don't get Tiny Tower – it's too late for the rest of us but you can still save yourself from this soul destroying addictionsmile

Temple Run is an addicting little "one more go" game that is available for everyone's favourite price (Free)

DrawRace 2 and Jetpack Joyride are worth a look at 69p each also

Game dev story was the first iPod game I got totally addicted too, and the follow ups are pretty good.
Dead space is pretty Amazing and the monkey islands and broken sword games are good if you like that sort of thing.
Also The new Pacman games are Worth a try
Did not care for tiny tower at all .

I tend to get games when they cheap and then never play them much frown

ok the first app I would recommend to download is AppShopper.

It has a handy little tracking feature that sends you a notification when an app on your want list falls to everyone's favourite price – Handy for 1 day only freebies

Others to consider

A Monster ate my homework – Knock the monsters off the stand

Scene It Movies 2 – movie quiz game based on the board game

Maya Pyramid – Solataire type game

Burn The Rope – Twisty Turny Uppy Downy side to side game that involves you trying to burn as much of a rope as possible

Time Geeks Find Them All – Find the item game but with throwback 8 bit graphics

Run Like Hell – jumpy ducky chasey chasy game

Gamebook Adventures 1-6 – Just like the old school gamebook adventures like  warlock on firetop mountain with intergrated dice.  You must supply your own pencil and graph paper for maps though

iSlash – swipe the object and remove sections but don't hit the ninja stars

Top Gear Stunt School – a stunt school typer game based on top gear

Shady Puzzles – a bit like suduko but without the numbers

Tiger Woods 12 – it's tiger woods but on your iphone (imagine tiger woods 09 for consoles and you have tiger 12 for ios)

Twiz Show – a gameshow that is based on your twitter account and invovles your twitter followers and followees

Star Dunk – basketall in space but with global leaderboards

1000 Heroz – run from one side of level to the other jumping holes and rocks.  a new hero (level) every day and we are only at about 180 so far.

King Idiot 1 – A Game inspired by the pc flash game "the impossible game"

King Idiot 2 – please see above and imagine a sequel

ZX Spectrum Emulator – does exactly what it says on the tin. a few free games to start you off but then you have to pay for further games

Horse Frenzy – the horse racing game you find at theme parks and funfairs

Tiki Premium – Remove the bricks but don't drop the tiki totem

Thief Pro – crack a multitude of safes in a variety (5) of different ways

Quarrel – The bastard lovechild of scrabble and R.I.S.K.

ITV player – Like BBC iPLayer but on your iPhone and for ITV stations

Sky GO – If you are a sky customer watch sky sports and sky movies on your ios device, if you are not a sky customer, watch nothing.

Songify – Say Something random and Songify will make it into a song

Midlife Gamer – Listen to old shows without downloading them, listen to new shows without downloading them.  Get shiny bonus content from the boys.

Yahoo Messenger / MSN Messenger / Skype – No Need to explain

Geocaching – Great little app if you geocache

Red Laser – Go into shop, find item you want, scan barcode, go to different shop where it is cheaper

Shazam – Play shazam a piece of music and it will tell you the name of the track and the artist

VidRhythm – Look up MLG Vidrhythm on youtube for a demonstartion from Matt & Daren as to wgat this app does

AroundMe – Using GPS this app locates your current location and recommends varoius places based on catergories such as bank, hospitals, petrol stations, restaurants etc.

Thats about all I can think of just now
