Game Informer‘s next cover story will be about a new Gears of War title, which is due to be officially revealed at the Microsoft E3 conference on Monday.
The image -which you can check out below – shows a shrouded man being led away in chains while a battle with the Locust is fought in the background. Since Marcus Fenix started the first game in prison for disobeying orders, this could suggest this will be a prequel. We’ll know more on Monday.

looks to me like a prequel, prob about the early days of the war with the locust on or aroud when marcus was in the slab prison
Based on the silhouette, my first thought was Prescott. I figured some kind of Pendulum War prequel, Prescott “wrongly” imprisoned, rose through the ranks to become Chairman, yadda yadda yadda…Head shape doesn’t look like any of the core characters…
Its likely to be a Pendulum wars prequel, its been rumored for ages but won’t be an in-house Epic production. I’m expecting People can fly to be developing and a release this year.
Wonder if they will bring back the Exile subtitle?
Probably might just be a comeupance type thing for prescott, or the love child of someone, or the space between Marcus not obeying orders and him being put in prison. I do however think that it is not going to have the same feel and emotion that the other gears games bought, especially the cinematic feel of 2 and 3, this is the treyarch/infinity ward call of duty scenario I reckon
